BONUS EPISODE 40 - Boundaries & The Housing Market

On the shipping stuff, I have a lot to say. I feel like shipping is one of those activities where it's only really fun if it stays within the bounds of fiction and everybody involved is comfortable with it. I personally would be fine if my characters that I play in civs or stuff were shipped with other people's characters (unless, of course, the other half wouldn't be fine with it) But there are so many people where they will either bring it into real life or actively disregard boundaries, and those types are so goddamn loud about it. Like y'all said, it really fucks with creators, and I do think it's a really serious topic that more people should be made aware of. It's also hard because aside from just statements of your boundaries, there's not really much you can do without risking causing more drama about it, like that joke Pyroscythe made. Honestly, I just wish people would be actually respectful of others. I think mcyt especially suffered from blowing up around the Pandemic era, which was a massive setback when it came to people understanding basic courtesies (although I don't doubt that people weren't already weird around shipping beforehand, but being locked inside for the better part of a year def made the issue worse). Hopefully, with higher awareness of this, more people will learn to respect boundaries and not be assholes.

on shipping content creator's who aren't comfortable with it, honestly i'd say it's definitely some form of online sexual harassment. any form of sexual harassment REALLY fucks with people and it sucks that mcyt communities don't acknowledge or care about the fact they are actively harming someone's psyche. especially with how widespread it is too. it IS that serious and i'm really glad you guys brought this up, it absolutely is a topic that needs to be vocalized more. genuinely fuck proshippers and boundary breakers 😭😭😭
