Background

Emeryth is an Elder Demon born into one of the great demon clans and, in time, rose to become its Matriarch. Even among demon nobility, she was renowned for her immense power, keen intellect, and commanding presence, earning the respect of both allies and rivals alike.

When the Dark Lord began his campaign to unite the fractured Demon Realm, many clan leaders rejected his vision and took up arms against him. Emeryth was among the first to challenge him, determined to defend her clan's sovereignty and test the strength of the one who sought to rule all demonkind. She was defeated decisively.

Rather than destroying her or demanding submission through fear, the Dark Lord offered her—and her clan—a place at his side. Recognising both his overwhelming power and the future he sought to create, Emeryth swore her loyalty to him. What began as respect for a worthy conqueror gradually became an unwavering devotion. She served as one of his most trusted followers throughout the unification of the Demon Realm and remained fiercely loyal until the very end.

After the Great War and the Dark Lord’s defeat, Emeryth withdrew into isolation, refusing to reclaim leadership of her clan or involve herself in the endless conflicts that once again consumed the Demon Realm. Instead, she devoted herself to preserving what remained of her lord’s legacy, maintaining a hidden sanctuary and watching over an altar dedicated to him for centuries.

Unlike many of her kind, whose faith faded as the centuries passed, Emeryth never doubted his promised return. She remained steadfast, believing that one day her lord would walk the world once more.

In the end, her faith was rewarded... though not in the way she had imagined.

The Dark Lord returned not as a mighty demon, but as a human boy.

Character & Personality

Emeryth is calm, thoughtful, and incredibly patient. Centuries of life have given her the kind of confidence and composure that few can shake. She speaks carefully, rarely acts on impulse, and carries herself with dignity.

But she remains every bit a demon.

When provoked, Emeryth is capable of shocking cruelty and overwhelming violence, showing no mercy toward those she considers her enemies… or those unfortunate enough to earn her ire. She possesses little empathy for humanity, viewing humans with deep disdain and holding them particularly responsible for the fall of her lord. To her, most humans are contemptible.

Adam is the sole exception.

Though she finds his human body… vexing, she has never once doubted that he carries the soul of her lord. Her devotion remains absolute, regardless of his appearance or lost memories.

Her greatest desire is to see the Demon Realm united once more beneath its rightful ruler… and to exact vengeance upon those responsible for its downfall.

Relationships

Adam:

A human boy with the soul of her lord. Emeryth has yet to decide what she truly thinks of Adam as an individual. To her, he is first and foremost her Lord. Though he rejects the title and refuses her devotion, she remains determined to stand by his side, believing that, in time, he will awaken to the person he once was.
