๐ Unboxing the Mystery v1.4.0: Circuit Maze, Unified Currencies
v1.4.0 adds Circuit Maze, a new procedural circuit-board puzzle, and reworks how Unboxing the Mystery handles currency. The currency change brings a single setup dialog for every currency the module uses, shared special-currency balances across GlitchSmith modules, and broader system support for sheet-currency rewards.
๐งฉ Circuit Maze
A navigation puzzle on a generated circuit-board grid with a start point and an exit.
Players move through the maze with WASD controls.
Yellow lightning hazards blink on and off, resetting the player on contact.
Purple slowdown hazards halve movement speed. Green speed boosts double it.
Locks can block required paths. Keys are placed away from their locks, so players have to explore side branches before continuing.
Five difficulty levels control grid size, hazard count, key count, and time limit.
Spectator mode lets other players watch the maze being solved in real time.
Circuit Maze was originally commissioned by riffin, who chose to share it with every patron. Thanks, riffin!
๐ช Unified Currency Dialog
One new dialog manages every currency the module uses, in one place.
System currencies (e.g. cp/sp/gp on D&D 5e, Pathfinder, etc.) and special currencies (gem tokens, event coins, ticket counters, etc.) share the same setup UI.
Replaces the old Custom Currency Configuration and Special Currency Definitions menus.
Existing custom currencies carry over automatically on the next world load.
๐ Shared Special Currencies
Special currencies are now stored in the GlitchSmith Library shared wallet instead of per-actor flags.
The same event coins or gem tokens are visible from any GlitchSmith module that uses them - one shared balance per character.
The Actor Wallet UI and Special Currency Manager work the same way as before. Only the storage location changed.
Special currencies can use their own image icons in gacha rewards.
๐ฐ Broader System Support for Currency Rewards
Container payouts and gacha sheet-currency rewards now go through GlitchSmith Library, so they work in every system the library supports.
Built-in support: D&D 5e, Pathfinder 1e/2e, Starfinder/SF2e, Daggerheart, Cyberpunk Red, Shadowrun 5e/6e, Savage Worlds, Fabula Ultima (Project FU), WFRP 4e.
Multi-coin rewards (e.g. 1 gp + 5 sp + 3 cp) apply correctly in one step, including automatic coin splitting where the system uses it.
Claim All groups every reward into one summary notification instead of one toast per item or denomination.
Removed
Update and announcement popups now come from GlitchSmith Library instead of Unboxing the Mystery's legacy notifier.
