These episodes break my heart, especially gon having the internal confusion and crying the episode before transforming, like as ruthless as he has been lately he is still a damn kid who doesn't know how to cope with the death of someone he loves

LETS GOOOO, you’ve gotten so far Matt, from not liking this show the first time you watched it to loving it when you gave it another chance🥹

Okay, sorry for the ridiculously long message as always, but I have a lot to say about this one since it’s one of my favorite episodes. 1. I LOVE Gon and Killua’s voice actresses. Their love for the series, along with their talent and dedication to these characters, is absolutely priceless. I sincerely hope with all my heart that they’ll reprise their roles in the next series. 2. As for Gon, he has always acted on instinct, without ever really thinking about the consequences. After all, he’s still a kid, and his recklessness has generally worked out for him. But this time, it didn’t. Kite, his father’s protégé, died. Gon had convinced himself that Kite could still be saved, and that he could somehow make up for what had happened. When that hope was finally taken away from him, the guilt and sense of responsibility became unbearable. And, in my view, there’s also Gon’s usual selfish streak at play here. Not because he doesn’t care about other people, but because he has a tendency to reduce much bigger situations to his own feelings and goals. At that point, his need for revenge and atonement completely took over, without regard for the larger situation everyone else was involved in, or even for his own future. That is what ultimately pushed him over the edge and led him to make a Nen vow. For anyone interested, here’s a more detailed explanation of what happened, in the comment:

As Kurapika explains, Nen can become much stronger through Vows and Limitations: the harsher the limitation and the greater the risk or price you impose on yourself, the more power you can obtain. In Gon’s case: Price / sacrifice: “I don't care if this is the end.” Gon puts himself, his future, and all the potential he could ever have developed on the line. He is essentially saying that he no longer cares whether there is anything left for him after this moment. What he gets in return: “So I'll use everything.” In exchange, Gon gains access to all the power his potential could ever produce, immediately. Instead of reaching that level gradually over years of training and growth, he burns through that future potential all at once. Limitation / restriction: Pitou. The implied restriction is that this power exists for this one purpose and this one target: Pitou. It follows the same general principle as Kurapika restricting Chain Jail to members of the Phantom Troupe.

King tried to kill Pitou in one strike early on and was impressed by how strong they were. Gon made them bloodied and broken in one strike. Yeahh he's kinda the goat. As you keep watching some stuff about how Gon achieved this will be "revealed" but with the manga ongoing there has always been fan theories that seem somewhat realistic.

Someone needs to put a timer on how long your mouth was open during this reaction 🤣😂 Its definitely over 5 minutes!

Adult Gon would make Netero look like a bot. All of Netero's remaining life force was put in the zero hand blast but he was already an old frail man using Nen to just stay alive so it barely damaged the king. Gon traded his entire future life energy to take down Pitou and she knew at once that trade made him instantly equal to Meruem

It's okay to cry! It's okay to not cry! Nobody should hold it against you. :) I didn't think 130-131 would get you this good honestly. But I'm glad you got up to this point to see how what you initially thought of Gon would translate to this moment. That one dimensional seemingly happy go lucky anime protag attitude of his was just a front. A good one by Togashi. He was masking how absolutely crazy this kid is. My thing is, if this is how he responds to wrongs done to Kite, what would he have done if it WAS Killua or Aunt Mito??? *shiver* Scary tbh, lol.

Shirokush · September 10, 2026

Gons tears at the end were him regretting his selfishness for the first time. This episode was being foreshadowed throughout the show.

c
claudios · September 10, 2026

fact is that Pitou said Gon sacrificed his life energy, his ne, but gon never said what so that was just a hunch, For Gon life is probably less important that some other stuff so to bump that spirit so much he probably approved sacrificing stuff that was worst than death for him. About Netero, there is massive difference between this fights, Netero DID try to win, that was a duel, and most people would try to win and survive, Gon has always been clasified as insane for being reckless but this broke every barrier posible and he sacrificed "everything" for a single fight wich no one would have done, as Morel said you always fight knowing that you are winning because that is the nen user spirit, Gon doesn't care about live or death here nor winning or loosing this was revenge and redeption that's all.

Riad BBS · September 10, 2026

I still get the same feeling, Matt, even after watching this many times, that same emotion hits me again at the end of this episode 😭 . You not alone , this is YOUR POWER UP to endure what is Coming 😭 after this u are able to endure the hiatusxhiatus as well. You not finishing the next episodes back to back made me go watch the rest 😭 ..... Down below might be information some consider a spoil to explain the power of pitou scroll down at your own agreement. This might be considered a minor spoiler, but it could be explained in the upcoming episodes. Pitou's ability after dying is a post-mortem nen condition, similar to how Gon used a nen condition to acquire all his power essentially, everything. “Everything Now, I don't mind if I die” the i don't mind if i die it was when pitou told him I will kill you. Pitou's power awakened after death needed to be executed immediately after death or while dying. Post-mortem nen conditions are far more powerful than any other nen rules, like Kurapika's, even though he risked his life. However, this is on another level it involves death and what happens after death basically Pitou set a rule and condition : After I die and do not kill my enemy turmy my corpse to a pupet to get the power to neutralise the enemy

A
Arlen Murataliev · September 11, 2026

You don't need a Nen contract for post-mortem Nen to activate. As long as you have extreme resolve and determination towards a specific person, post-mortem Nen can activate.

B
Big Boy Jeff · September 10, 2026

my guess for gons transformation here is at minimum he set 1 vow and 1 condition, the vow was he'd never use nen again in exchange to age his body to a point it could handle the power, the condition being life force in exchange for nen so the more nen he uses the more of his life he trades. when hes finished the obj he set he would de-transform bc its powered by nen which he cant use anymore

Mercy Lost · September 10, 2026

2203 FI-NAL-LY true absolute sadness and anger pointing out for epic powerscaling and mystery moment, would you look gon the same now 🤔 i bet not 💪 i know you're having your "youtube prosperity" or energy thingy (your reaction was great tho) in mind but bro don't tell us you wanted to edge us on THIS episode, just live the moment and appreciate the fact that it was a run not a walk and you we'rent ready for this sprint and i don't care i'll say it ! thanks for the greatness tho 🙏
