The Darkest Minds

One of the things I LOOOOVE about dystopian books and movies, especially the ones geared toward teens/young adults is that they always manage to capture exactly what’s wrong with our society and create these beautifully devastating stories that really make you evaluate your life, the world around you, and how at the end of the day children are the ones that suffer and yet end up being stronger than every adult around them (which is so tragic in its own right). Ugh! I hope we get more dystopian movie reactions 😭😭😭

The actress who played Nova is Amandla Stenberg. I love her; my favorite movie of hers is Everything Everything. It's based on a novel by Nicola Yoon's. The book is great but the movie is just so beautiful; you should definitely add this to your list 💕💕💕

Omg this was my favorite movie for YEARS when it came out. Every time I rewatch it, even almost ten years later I bawl at the end (and the beginning and middle tbh). She pissed me off so much when she erased his memoryyyy. I'm glad you also enjoyed it!!

I’m sorry for turning what you thought would be a sparkling water experience into something considerably stronger I promise I wasn’t meaning for that to happen with my October pick but on a more serious note I really appreciate how much you care about the messages behind these stories even when something makes you furious (“Fuck Clancy”) you never shy away from talking about why it matters and that’s something I genuinely admire about you and if it makes you feel any better this was actually Luna’s FIRST time watching it to and let me tell you she was NOT ready either so you definitely weren’t alone in those feelings 💙🦋
