The movie took place in the year 2049 and Plank siad they station is 27 years old. The Space Stay should have launched back in 2022 🤣. And those kids will all be born approximately in the year 2036.

Second one is about the Aliens using Protozoa to try and communicate because they need the maps since their ship got fired and in return the help fix the space station
It wasn’t really a science conference where Wyndham was talking. It was more of a send off for microbe where he talked about how important the Space Station was and why it was so amazing they were sending Microbe up there. All part of his cover lol
