I can't be the only one thinking of "The Tale of Iroh" from Avatar, Right?
I see that too.
Taking all that Maren has been through with her backstory...all she's had to deal with, especially having to grow up early, and her father's death being caused by a Keidran...is it any wonder that she is as closed off and cold and distant as she is? And Karen, while generally having a happy-go-lucky demeanor, no doubt understands the solemnity of this event...and like she did with Madeline, could perhaps provide her sister some comfort. With the war on, it is little wonder they might worry whether he is still there. But for Maren, I suppose it gives her some...closure, to say Happy Father's Day here...
Is the Taverne mentioned in the Comic or here on Patron? May he rest in Peace.
I don't know if you know but, datter is the Danish word for daughter and, of course, Tavern is tavern. Tavern could be their father's name or it could be his occupation. In olden days, it wasn't uncommon for a child to be knows and their father's child and take that name as their family name, i.e. Leif Erikson was the son of Erik. He was referred to as Leif, Erik's son.
what a sad scene to witness i do hope any of their friends would be there for them so they can be hugged for their comfort as they deserve any comfort they can get
Even after everything that’s happened Maren and Karen still get to visit their father, how sweet yet sad
A solem scene. I can imagine on the way here the sisters were still quite chatty and talkative but getting more quiet as they got near...paying their respects...and on their way back returning to a more playful and sisterly mood as the weight on their back has been eased.
I wanna hug them both
Same here, they need the comfort and support from a couple of friends
I'm a little confused with "I'm glad you're still here". Metaphorically, they're no longer "here" in the way that's usually meant, and literally - is there a graverobbing issue where they're at? Is there a third way to understand this?
There is a war going on and the village they used to be in was pretty on fire last we saw it. So graverobbing or defacement of gravestones might be a concern
Thanks... turns out that I didn't need those onions anyways.
This is sad 🙁
