Maren and Karen Ref Sheet
All you need to know about the tavern sisters, Maren and Karen, suggested by Mediawatcher!
Fun extra fact: Maren and Karen were the 3rd and 4th characters I designed, right after Keith (#1) and Raine (#2), and before even Trace and Flora. In the beginning, they were going to have elf-like ears. The fact that they were elves really didn't have any baring on the story at all, and I decided I didn't want to muddle things, so I took elves out altogether and made them human.
Karen is often depicted with two sets of ears, but I've been drawing the human ears less and less, since it is a bit weird when I think about it. XD

From what we know about this world, as soon as I read Tanlen killed her Dad, I thought "What did her Dad do to push him over the edge?"
Oh dear. Losing her Dad that way explains a lot. Kudos to Sythe for being good enough to her that she not only started accepting Keidran as friends, but very nearly went to bed with one.

Oh, what's weird about two sets of ears? Anime anthros have been having two sets of ears for as long as I can remember.

Very cute and easy to miss detail in this character sheet; Tom(assumedly) being interrupted by Karen while introducing her. Look right next to the "Me!" from Karen.
I noticed that as well, but I can't make out what's being said.
I feel like, even if they don't win the monthly color votes, all of the ref sheets should be colored eventually anyway. They're a valuable resource both for you and the community. :D
That bottom-right corner conversation could be the start of quite the roasting duel. Good move, Tom. You always know what to throw into your sketches to give it that extra kick, and this was no exception!

I love how Tom actually admits he used to draw Karen with four ears I don't even hold it against him for that, anime still does that crap.
Comics is bad on biology (and physics, except everyday light physics) in general. C.f. how development is 'evolution' and differences is 'mutant' (some could be, in principle, at that, but again they depict it as developmental).
