I can imagine her waking like this, face totally flushed, then walking to Sythe's room just to look at him from the doorway as he slept. The bed an absolute mess of blankets and sprawled Wolf Keidran limbs.
It's okay Maren, it's just hormones. I know, I didn't /really/ want to make out with my 6th grade math teacher. You just got some pent up... urges...

Maren shouldn't be horrified she should be conflicted.
I think that part of her wants it is part of the reason why she's so horrified. You aren't that scared by something unless you think there's a chance it might actually happen...
Sythe: What’s wrong dear? Maren: I had the worst nightmare I ever had, I dreamt that I married Sy… AAAAHHH!!

That "filthy" beast is likely better groomed than she is. He really needs a canon wardrobe update.

Sythe, awakening to the sound of screams: "Whoizzat? WHAT'S WRONG!?" Maren: "Ah! Ha... Whew. Oh, I just had the worst nightmare." Sythe: "Yeesh. Sure sounded like it. What about?" Maren: "Our wedding day." Sythe: "Oh... Was it really so terrible? That's not the way I remember it. In fact, judging by the number of White Wolf wine bottles you stacked up by the end of the night, and how... fresh you got with some of the guests (poor Raine still blushes anytime somebody brings it up), I'd say you enjoyed yourself pretty well." Maren: "No. It wasn't that. It was-" Sythe: "What, love?" Maren: "In the nightmare... You were better dressed than me." Sythe: "Ha! I think I remember saying I wanted to do the wedding traditional Wolf tribe style. In the fur." Maren: "And I remember telling YOU no way, because you'd enjoy it too much." Sythe: "Yeah, that must be a human thing, because I still don't see what's so wrong with enjoying myself too much. Besides, you say that like half our friends don't already walk around either naked or close enough to it." ???: *Sounds of soft crying from down the hallway* Maren: "Well now we've done it. I guess it's my turn to feed them." Sythe: "No, no. I got it. I'm up anyway. You get your rest. And Maren?" Maren: "Yes, dear?" Sythe: "...You looked beautiful. You still do."

Me doth think the lady protests too much
not intending to derail the thread or anything, but i've never understood that phrase "protests too much". i mean, people think you're guilty if you protest too much and if you don't protest enough. so what is the optimal amount of protesting that is acceptable?
And now the use of "filthy beast" just has me thinking of the movie Father Goose... and I would watch that as done with the Twokinds cast 😂 Sythe voices by Cary Grant, Maren by Leslie Caron, it'd work :)
Much as I want to see a follow-up to this, I can’t help wondering if the comic itself will soon give us something even better. I mean, they’re on a beach date together.
Both Maren and Sythe opened up a bit to Raine at different times; it would be nice to see the two of them have a chance to show us and each other who they really are and eventually bond in a meaningful, serious way. We've seen tinges of blush and offhand flirts, but it would be a good time to show the first spark of what might come.
