Well since they would NEED to cover their paws because of the extreme cold, I would say probably
I have a question. Are these basitins capable of maintaining better homeostasis then the ones on the island? There was a page where Keith was getting sick do to mild hypothermia, so I was wondering if the island basitins not only have the ears of rabbits but the shitty homeostasis as well.
It's possible. I mean, there are Arctic Hares. So, they could be the Arctic hares of the Bastian Bloodline.
Unfortunately, she did caused another international incident to where her and the other explorer were never seen again.
legend has it, if you hug a northern basitin, especially the fluffier ones. You'll be engulfed by the floof that leads to a pocket dimension where you'll never be seen again.

This is bad of me, but… Brin: *takes off all upper clothing* The male explorer: “gulp!” The Basitin: “Hmmm. You are quite tough, I’ll give you that. How long do you think you can last before you need to put it back on?” The male explorer: “Phew!” (Thoughts) “I thought these people were prudish… at least, that’s what they told us about the Basitins before we left.” Brin: “You’re so fluffy I can’t resist” *proceeds to hug the Basitin* Basitin: *a sole drop of blood leaks from his nose as soon as she squeezes against him* I guess these Basitins have gone beyond Keith and all but forsaken their original traditions and values.

It seems quite a few Basitins get exiled if they can start their own community somewhere else.
This seems plausible. The Basitin race seems hardy enough that they could have established a presence in the north.

I had a suggestion where a fluffy Keidran is trimmed down to reveal a svelte body, it didn't make the ballot. Likely because I chose Saria and Rose as the principle characters.
I can imagine it. Basitins: "Merciful Nora, please give her a tail of her own so she won't steal ours." Suddenly she has a basitin tail, which is his. "No!"
Wish the gal still had a fluffy tail so it could be seen up and surprised when she sees the Basitin.

Gonna headcanon this into a prequel to the snow leopard series. Because this girl and her shnep boyfriend are beautiful and perfect and right. So she stays there forever. When the rest of the excursion goes to leave, a kid from the village is like, "Please don't go, auntie!" And shnep boi is like, "Guess folk around here have gotten used to you being around. I understand you have to go, but I'll admit; when you're gone, this place is gonna feel... colder." And she leaves anyway. But later that evening, shnep boi is... chopping wood or some other shnep hunk bs... when a figure comes walking out of the sunset. So he looks up and goes, "Decided to stay, huh?" And adventure girl is like, "Didn't feel right to go. I guess the real adventure was right in front of me the whole time." And shnep boi wraps her in his big, hunky shnep arms and says, "welcome home." Then they FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- *Broadcast terminated*
