I hope this means if you put the collar on yourself you can take it off whenever you want, or would you have to track down the last person to touch it before you?

Okay a completely separate speculative question: What does this collar do if the "registered master" dies before it's removed from the slave?
My guess is that you would need Templar intervention for removal.
Now would be a good time for Sythe to calmly walk out and howl from a rooftop.

Gotta admit, I would love for something to happen that causes Nibbs to stay a keidran permanently. But knowing Tom, he has something entirely different in mind for the story, and I'll end up loving whatever that is.
Plot twist. The next page it shocks the living daylights out of him, and then trace.
Turns out, the only one who can take it off is Nibbly since it hit the floor, so the collar was all like: “oh, they weren’t going to put me on something after all. #Fumble LOL” and then she touched it as she was growing/transforming into it.
That is so very fitting.
and if she speaks his name, and her love for him I'll TOTALLY lose it -- but, it's the artist's perogative, we will see. . .I would only hope that at *some* point, Nibbly can become Anthro, and they can be united! (and also, thank you Thomas for all these wonderful stories and artworks!!!)
Please please please PLEASE YES let this be canon!! They're so adorable together, and Nibbly isn't just an animal of some lesser intelligence -- she's sentient, intelligent and brave -- and truly devoted to Sythe! She has *earned* this (already tearing up a bit, not ashamed to say!) I can't imagine what important plot purpose would be served by having her change back --

I love how enthusiastic Raine can be compared to primarily worrying about her transformation problems.
It’s now established in comic that Raine is a magic geek.

Or, if Nibbly wants it off, she might actually like being able to do more stuff then a little squirrel.
She's technically more capable in small squirrel mode, being able to walk and all. Doesn't seem to affect her vocal capacity (still only squirrel noises) or her (admittedly high) intelligence
I believe that the real question is whether we the readers want him to take it off, or if we'd prefer for this story to join the canon of the main story.
