Play D&D for a while you'll learn some stuff about dragons and humans. LOL
If Trace could shape shift into a dragon, Nora would so be all over him in an instant.
Although, there are sketches of Nora turning Trace into a dragon. In one of them, Reni confronts Nora about it, saying, "You just can't do that. With all due respect."
This is the proof. Dragons are thaumaphil.

I don't understand how this sketch won the color vote considering what its competitors were.
