Today's Interruption
Dear Twokinds Fans!
As many of you noticed, the Twokinds Patreon was temporarily suspended today. Unfortunately, I was attending a funeral all morning, and could not be home until later to address the issue. Thankfully, once I was back home and emailed them, Patreon's support staff was fairly quick to respond and get things restored again.
Now, for the bad new: Patreon is enforcing a recent policy that requires sexually suggestive art to be labeled as "Patrons Only". This means sketches like "Adira Daki" and "Mean Girls" cannot be public, and require a pledge (of any amount) to view. Characters like Flora, meanwhile, can still be 'in the fur' so long as it's not sexual.
This is obviously not ideal, as I believe my daily sketches should be publicly available for everyone, and I don't like the idea of keeping them behind a paywall. The solution, however, is simple: from now on, anything a little too saucy will be labeled "Patrons Only". However, I will also post them to my Deviantart, and I give you all express permission to repost them where ever else you like, as always.
For those of you who are already currently Patrons, this change won't affect you at all. For those who aren't, you'll just have to take a small trip over to my dA to see them.
I apologize for the interruption, and the change in protocol. It was pretty scary for me, to be honest, and was on top of an already very stressful couple of days. Thank you all so much for your kind words and support, Patron or not. I hope you guys will continue to enjoy the sketches, and I'll continue to enjoy making them for you.

So wait, Characters can be Furclad, like Flora, but... Mean Girls, which was just two Furclad characters, isn't allowed? Well that isn't horrifically arbitrary or anything. =/

I was wondering when or if you mention a funeral - cuz of your brothers YT videos. I hope it didnt hit you as hard as it seemed to have hit him. Anyways, I wish you, your family and especially the parents of the deceased all the best. Stay strong!

It’s a slight incoviences but for your amazing artwork, it’s well worth it, thank you for staying on the fans side, you truly are the best Tom, and if it’s needed, take some time off, loosing a close one isn’t easy so you take all the time you need, I wish you the best Tom

I'm so sorry about your family's loss. It's never easy to lose anyone like that, nor should it be. You, Mark, Mike and everyone take the time you need to mourn and remember the joys Miranda brought your family. We all wish you and yours the best, don't fret about anything else.

I can’t remember where, but I’ve seen examples of “Patron only” posts when browsing creators on Patreon that still shows the title. As long as that isn’t a flaw about to be patched, Tom could include (Free on DeviantArt) in the titles of any “Patron only” Posts.
That’s a pretty good idea, that way we can no for sure which ones. I don’t think the name is a flaw, for as long as I have been on here, I still have been able to see the names of the sketch request posts and stuff.
I'm going to notice 5° changes to my indoor scenery... Is all I'm saying. Keep up the good work!

I would like to say I’m extremely sorry for the issues that you have had to deal with these past couple days. I have not personally had to deal with a close family loss, but I know it is likely very hard. And I also know that you have everyone here for you as well. I know that I can say, that if I had the ability to help support you with paying, that I would, even without getting anything special for it. I would also like to say thank you, back when I first found two kinds, before finding this, it helped me get a through a hard part in my life. When I found TwoKinds I was going through family drama that had me not wanting to be at home (prior to moving out of my parents) and TwoKinds helped me through it.
Real sorry that what happened happened. Always a shame to lose people, especially family and I wish you guys the best. As for what Patreon did they could have just added an 'explicit content' feature that requires a log-in and option changes to access. Super simple fix that could have been applied. Oh well.

I became a Patreon because, looking at the sketches everyday, I thought I should contribute. What Patreon is doing is making it harder for artists, though I can understand the reasons behind it, people just browsing the site should not come across explicit art. And while I would not call much of Toms stuff “explicit” (furry butts and boobs seem fine to me, like someone wearing a skin tight outfit) I can see why some people would. I do like today’s sketch of Peeping Reed, which has nothing explicit shown, but is ginormously suggestive.

That said, Patreon putting sexually suggestive works behind a paywall is Puritan. Explicit? Understandable. Implicit? I need some strong reasons for that. I’m really sorry to hear on what happened to your niece, my condolences go out to you and your whole family. I can’t believe Patreon bowed down to those whiny groups of people, this is going to bite them in the ass in the near future. At least you’re going to upload the new sketches on your deviantART account, so that’s good to hear.
They’ve already tried pulling crap that didn’t just nip them in the but, it chomped their nads clean off and spit them into a garbage disposal. E.G. their attempted pay changes that would have made $1 patrons pay darn close to $2 a month.
Sorry to hear about your loss, Tom. I hope you can stay strong, take the time to grieve, and continue moving forward. If you need a break, I would recommend it although I am not a patron (yet) so you may have to ask them about it.

Patreon is running around lighting fires and trying to burn the very people who make their platform a success. of just the people who i watch on patreon fully 1/3rd of them have had their accounts suspended now, with no warning. These are people who make their LIVING using the platform. If Patreon is going to start pulling this crap, these people WILL find another platform, because they cant risk their income on Patreon pulling another random "lets suspend everyone because they might have winked funny" session.

That's idiotic nonsense but I'm glad you got it sorted out. And... my condolences man. I've got two little nieces of my own, I can only imagine what you've gone through.
Debatable but even if we assume that to be true, there are far better ways to go about it. Their current approach is more than a little ham-handed.
