She is cute, and I agree that it will be nice to learn more about her. It should be noted that she is no more nude on this beach then many kendrian are in other contexts. Human parents in this milieu must have an interesting time trying to explain "they're always wearing fur, you need clothes." (Me to my cat: "Wait until I put your collar on. While I applaud vanityshusband for their excellent taste in characters (even if I suspect any potential marriage aspirations of hers lie elsewhere), and with nothing wrong with this sketch by itself, unfortunately it feels like a real missed opportunity as the third Vanity fanservice sketch in as many months, all of which have her with her tongue out (though the daki did have 2 poses). An expression we haven't really seen from Van yet - whether that's a beaming smile, a playful grin, blowing a kiss, winking, or relaxing contentedly - could have given it a much fresher take. A couple of simple accessories like sunglasses or a sunhat could have differentiated it further too. I appreciate you were probably tired and it was the last sketch of the night, Tom, so I'm sure you would have gone with something different if you'd been more aware of the repetition. Wider point, but the last 5 sketches of Van have all been fanservice or cosplay. Her single limited canon appearance doesn't help, but there's still so much more that can be done with her character even at this early stage; she's already shown a playful and gremlin sense of humour, as well as life-saving compassion at great risk to herself. Instead she's pretty much reduced to "hot fox waifu", cosplay, and background chaos, with a couple of exceptions. It feels like a real waste of her potential, and it makes her feel very one-note, which is a huge shame. No other character is being treated in this way. Even ones known for fanservice like Kat, Flora, or Raine get a healthy mix of comedy, environmental scenes, and light drama alongside the costumes and pinups. More variety would allow her to shine while we wait for her character to be expanded in the comic. (And yes, for the record, I will fully own the irony that one of my sketch ideas that may get drawn in the future has Van with her tongue out - in a completely different context. Everyone is free to laugh at this. Go nuts.)
I feel that Vanity's playful looks are really meant to disarm and charm unsuspecting victims, who she then "borrows" the looks of, likely gor use as other "costumes."
