How is the sword still straight? I would thing after having a full ton of rock holding it down, the sword would bend.

It's probably because Madelyn has a pickpocketing lvl of 100.
Madelyn can probably pickpocket stuff off of you that you never had in the first place. Madelyn can probably pickpocket abstract concepts.
