Feral Form Flora
A redux of Flora in feral form from the very early days of the comic, suggested by Seeth!
Tom Note: Feral form was one of those concepts I original had a long time ago that ended up falling to the wayside as the comic evolved. The idea was that Keidran were a bit more magical in nature, and could shift into a more animalistic mode when they were threatened, but the trade-off was that it put them in danger of going feral mentally, which they could become trapped in if they lost themselves. I ended up not using this concept much, especially when the idea of what a Keidran was solidified more and they became more like normal people just like humans.

Considering the fact she is a large cat... Maybe blinking slowly would calm her down a bit (slow blinking is a sign among cats both large and small and birds too of comfort and relaxation). Either way, if I die I die knowing I (almost) got to pet the cutest tigress ever.

I'm so glad this got some attention! I don't mind that it didn't get fleshed out or anything but to have Tom acknowledge it at all is really cool. You should never forget where you came from, the only way to begin is by beginning, and chapter 1 is still good!!!

Well she can still go all feral on Trace, but for very different reasons, if you know what I mean.
I imagine there are ways to retcon this, so feral forms are still a thing, but not a common thing. Maybe it only happens to young adult Keidran and is rarer as they age, or something. And this is better than every vampire piece and prehistoric piece combined.
I re-read the comic recently, and feral form was actually mentioned as recently as page 1061! However, like Tom mentioned, it seems to have changed from what it was at the beginning of the comic (a seperate form) to something more like the feral ghouls from the Fallout games. At least that's how it seemed to me. I do wonder if we'll see it mentioned in this chapter, since everyone seems to be getting set up for some character development, and the last time it was mentioned was with Raine. Aside from being my fav character, she has a ton of room for all kinds of character development lol.

To be honest, Keidran still need to keep a fair portion of their feral side... or they'll become little more than humans with fur.
Yeah. I would love to see more difference between keidran and human than between different nations /cultures of people. I'd love to see something... inhuman in them.

Could see "ferals" existing in keidran folklore the way that werewolves do in real life folklores. Might even retain the IRL dichotomy of werebeings where some traditions depict them as ravening monsters, while others depict them as noble protectors. I could see humans adopting the "monsters" view and keidran adopting the "protectors" one
Could I ask why you made Keidran more like normal people, like humans, and less prone to their "Feral form?"
I wanted to make them more grounded, more... biologically "real" and less like magic creatures that could shapeshift. In some of the original drafts of the comic, Keidran were also telepathic with one another and could even turn into their animal counterparts, but I felt I needed to cut back on that. I wanted them to be organic beings that lived in the world, and magic was something that had to be learned, just like with humans.
Its such a cool concept, its a shame that it fell off.

This was an Idea that I wish Tom had showcased in canon story more. I am of the belief that all animals (homo sapien sapien included) can 'go feral' if subjected to the right conditions and stimuli. After all, what wouldn't you do if the survival of those you loved was threatened? Just how sure of that answer are you? Are you sure you could come back from that? Think PTSD... Think Trace after losing Sariah...

I kind of like the idea of Keidran have a less human mindset. Basitin after all have their whole rule based social and cultural ethos,though of course there is no grand cohesive keidran civilization. A feral form of some sort would help explain the warriness people might have had.

Yeah, I remember this. That feral tigress with big chest. And how Flora went feral and cut Trace's arm open when his dark side resurfaced momentarily. And when Flora and Natani were cornered by musclehead general, I remember myself anticipating an epic scene how they both would go feral, and how disappointed I was. Since then I hadn't perceived keidran as ones having this hidden potential to brutally resolve situation, gradually forgetting about this... The art is epic, I didn't even know how I need to see Flora like this in Tom's modern style. The mixed feeling like a mild fearboner... Brr... Thank you very much.

A bit of a shame that it fell on the wayside. I'd kind of like to see it return especially so Flora could have ways to be a bit more active in more stressful/action related segments. Would work well with her being pregnant now (mama tiger and all)
