I must say this it feels wrong for Keith to still support his people after all he’s went through and remember this guys son is still in a leadership position that’s not ok especially since he had like no sympathy and didn’t really condone his fathers actions and he’s problematic for his people if he’s anything like his father
It's something that's pretty much hardwired into every Eastern Basitin. Loyalty to a fault, and being uncomfortable not having someone to take orders from. Tom's even confirmed in the character sheets that King Adelaide herself is constantly bothered by the fact she has nobody to take orders from and has to be the one giving them all.

Given his status as the (former) Intelligence General, Alabaster recognized the folly in trying to kill another ghost. Given his overabundance of pride, Alabaster still gave it his best effort. Alaric just laughed at him the whole time.
Meanwhile, Cornelius and Cathleen are tormenting Alabaster
