Oh wow, someone's a daredevil! *giggles* Ok...I'll be that person. That's a Motor Scooter, not a Moped. A moped looks like a little motorcycle and has pedals (and was very popular for a short time in the 1970s). A Motor Scooter has smaller tires, a step-through frame with a place to put your feet in front, and the engine is underneath you. The moped niche has pretty much been taken by e-bikes, some of which are VERY powerful and fast.
I really like that Flora is with Natani in this one. She’s not with Trace or Kat, who are folks she’s usually paired with both in these sketches and in the comic. Flora and Natani are a pair I wanna see more of!
I'm picturing Nat catching their usual ride to the studio with Flora, who, as usual, is running behind. She then comments about a new place to get lunch, which is (kinda) on the way to the studio.
Does anyone hear Shooting Star by the Pillows in their head when they see this image?

On most bikes, the driver is the only thing to hold on to. You may safely assume this is a deliberate design choice.

One problem.......that's not a moped......it's a motorscooter, like a Vespa or Lambretta. A moped is actually a bicycle with an engine that can be pedaled or powered by the small engine.

Those little things are faster than you think. Especially for the passenger.
They can go fast enough to get a speeding ticket on most city streets. I used to have one with a 150cc engine that could hit 50 miles per hour.

Can mopeds actually get to a high speed? 🤔 Either way, this reminds me of the scene from Hyper Police where Natsuki chased a criminal through the streets when Sakura was her partner.
I have a friend who owned a highway legal moped, meaning it could go at least 65mph. She claimed to have gotten it up to 110 on a downslope driving on the 15 freeway heading towards Las Vegas. She's crazy enough that I believe her. 😂
