Unspoken Friendship
Mike and Evals meet for the first time, suggested by Menke.
Mike was born into slavery. Evals was captured. As a dog, Evals had been raised to believe that foxes weren't to be trusted, as there's a lot of hatred between fox and dog keidran in the wild. But at this point he didn't have much else to lose. Both would later go on to be sold to Eric's father as ship hands, and later inherited by Eric himself.

I knew when I saw the black and white version that this one was going to get coloured. Too powerful not to. Glad it did, it came out beautifully.
This has to be one of your most impactful works I've seen in all these years.
Now I want to learn more of Mike's backstory. We know he is slave born but why is he being sold off now and what happened to him and his parents to separate them? Did their master die? Did Mike do something to land him in that cell?

This is both beautiful and sad, looks amazing though. Also I noticed you redrew the hands in the second panel before uploading, they look much better than before.
The Feels, they are strong this time thanks to color.

Seeing the relationship of these two is so nice. Thank you Menke for coming up with this idea I really wanted to see more of these two and this is a very sweet and beautiful image. Also thank you Tom for this gorgeous artwork! Also something about seeing Evals(being bigger and more "manly") in a weak and scared state while Mike comforts him is just so heart warming.
Ever since I read the comic that briefly mentions them knowing each other as kids, I wanted to see how that would have happened, considering the state of the TwoKinds world. I'm just thankful that people voted for it, and that Tom chose to draw it. It turned out far better than I expected. While the comedic drawings are fun, I do really appreciate the images that provide us with a window into the canon world, so I'll do my best to come up with similar suggestions in the future.
