Mike was born into slavery. Evals was captured. As a dog, Evals had been raised to believe that foxes weren't to be trusted, as there's a lot of hatred between fox and dog keidran in the wild. But at this point he didn't have much else to lose. Both would later go on to be sold to Eric's father as ship hands, and later inherited by Eric himself.
Both are free now!

Well. He's lived like this his whole life, so it wouldn't be too abnormal for him. Evals on the other hand was like my dog Molly, always jumping fences, or maybe bushes, to roam free, until a "Dog Catcher" came along that is.

There is a rare solo drawing of Evals in the DA gallery with a caption saying he and some other family members were captured in a slaver raid on their small dog village.
I never actually thought their friendship would have started out like this so touching and probably aught to be canon since it would tie into the story of how they became friends in the first place
And then mike became a girl and they got married. The End

the saddest part is how indifferent Mike is with his own situation. Mike is just trying to comfort Evals, because he is crying, but to Mike this is just other day.
Yeah... now thats the start of a strong friendship, even if they don;t know it at that time.

Tom. You really should make a “Canon” tag for anything that you deem to be part of the present canon. Based on your description of this image, I would assume that this image matches that tag.

Some of what’s mentioned in the description is actually mentioned that in the Canon storyline. But we haven’t actually seen this part of their first meeting.
