As a Deaf person, I really appreciate the inclusion very much. Not many artists thought of implementing sign language in their artwork.

I never knew Therie was mute. I thought she just couldn't speak English/Common/Human. Wow, that changes my perspective on their relationship and just makes it even more wholesome. I love this couple.
It's never been spelled out in the comic. Every time Therie shows up, there was a good reason she wouldn't have been talking if she could (Hiding in the background after a fling with Daniels, waving to her mother from across a marketplace, etc). The first time it was confirmed was on an earlier sketch.

Oh, yeah. She's never been shown to speak. However, she has thought things before. Very early after her first appearance, she can be seen thinking, "Hi, Mom." to the tiger matriarch.

He's like Trace, but even simpler somehow. And without dark past pre memory loss, I saw people that don't like Trace for that. So I get why Daniels is so appealing. A simple guy who cares and loves.
