I can only imagine how hot it must be, with 2 heavy-furred snow leopards snuggled up together while wearing heavy winter sweaters. There needs to be a sequel to this, all the heavy clothes unceremoniously dumped in a pile, with a sweating Adira and Maeve laying in the snow outside the photo studio, wearing only their fur.
As they say in North Germany: Wat mut, dat mut. Fine sketch warming the season.

This picture is honestly so cute! Mother and Daughter are both such beauties! And in all honesty, you'd think they would just do a sketch and paint the rest later.
Hands up, everyone who remembers getting dragged into the Wal-Mart photo studio (do they even have those anymore!?) to sit uncomfortably in place for 20 minutes while the photographer micro-adjusts everyone...
None in my area. Most Wal-Marts around me got rid of those years ago...
After the amount of time it took to wrestle Maeve into that sweater, Adira is going to get the best portrait she possibly can.
atleast let her scratch where it is itchy then go back to where your position was

In the olden Days, the customer really did have to stay still for minutes to hours on end barely moving, and yes. They're expensive. Hand-drawn took longer than early photography 📸, and early photography took longer than nowadays. So, things have improved dramatically in 150+ years since the Victorian Era, if not longer.
Sometimes I need a reminder that outside of certain noncanonical art, they live in a setting without cameras.
