While it's fair to consider Eric as someone who has relatively loose morals even if he's not particulary hard on his Keidran slaves and who has various unsavoury habits and ideas, I've always been a fan of this picture despite the dark and unsettling nature of it because it gives a very good idea as to *why* Kathrin cares so deeply about him despite all of his flaws.
Eric treats Kathrin far better than Roderick ever did.

I still envision Eric defending her, Roderick saying something along the lines of "you don't even use her for what she was bred for" and Eric saying that he doesn't see her as a tool for pleasure. And that this is why Eric pays little attention to her when she's being sexy as anyone as means of getting his attention. Which is irony to the extreme. Wait, with all the emotions running high across the group, does anyone think that Kat might straight up confess her wife-like love to him tonight (in comic)!?

Maybe I've forgotten any other mention of the "family business" or Roderick, but why does Roderick imply that he's better because he didn't get the "family business"?
'Cause it implies that Eric is of lesser moral character than Roderick, because he inherited the slave stuff (I think)

I didn't used to respect Eric, but Tom has a way of making all his characters so unique, with their own motivations and stories. Except Roderick. I think we can all agree he's not sympathetic. Eric really knows how to dress though, am I right?
