I like both how Tom has gotten better at drawing them and at how the Basitins have changed over time. Looks more like a Cat/Rabbit mix now. I also really love how Natani keeps bandages

according to the story, she still has it, just under her fur. it probably just got forgotten about when creating each page. the comic is 21, after all. things are going to be forgotten, storylines abandoned, characters left at the wayside.

Fennec Fox like. The tails are still wrong. That would be the closest relative they would have though given they can evidently go for a long time without drinkable water.

What is Keith supposed to be? Looking at the old one, iam glad the hair was not added .., Natani looked abit weird, that hair did not look good on her..., she looked like she was growing a mullet

I aways wondered what animal Keith was based on
From what I’m aware of. He’s meant to be a mix of a variety of species attributes. Based on any particular species alone. Otherwise, we’d have an assortment of Basitin race suggestions like we do with Keidran ones.
(nature documentary voice) and here we see a level 6 ranger, with his chosen familiar, the tiger. he managed to roll very high on the others, and now has taken his role as the party summoner, with spells to buff his ever growing horde of beasts. quite a rare sight indeed.
This makes me wonder about feral animals in their world. Other than squirrels, birds, and maybe fish, we haven't seen too many ferals.
We've seen feral cats, and there was an offhanded reference to feral dogs on one page, though that was ages ago.
This feels like a weird prank pulled on them. A benign experiment if you will

It's expected of course - 16 years(!) is a long time to improve - but it's still amazing to see just how far the art work has come 😌 (I'm pretty sure I started reading this is in either 2007 or 2008... if you want me, I'll be over here feeling very old 😭)

As far as I remember, nothing concrete, a mash-up of traits. Looks like a Fennec here, though.

Tigers in captivity are literally just big cats and are quite playful. It's just that a scratch from an angry housecat is bad enough, let alone a 500lbs tiger.
Cabbit Keith? (Cat-rabbit/hare hybrid) iirc are kinda what basitins are based on (could be wrong). Mostly cat though
