We're discussing Katy Perry again, this time we're doing Katy Perry's "Roar" vs. Sara Bareilles's "Brave" https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-poll-roar-vs-62969793
Anyway, the last three months have been absolutely exhausting. They were so long, I'm wiped! I think we'll be going back to shorter quicker episodes after this, and really, thank God. Who needs to talk that much about anything

This does not create user engagement in me, Katy perry has been covered heavy on your show and she’s not like Madonna or anything. She had hits and she fell off hard. Her hits weren’t good on the whole, outside of a couple maaaaybe, despite being significant culturally, but in no way is she an artist worth examining beyond her space in pop at a certain time, which you’ve covered
I hate them both, but Roar is at least catchy.
Todd‘s infectious full-throated laugh at the end was worth the price of admission alone!
I don't love either, but I would much rather hear Brave than Roar if it came on the radio.
i don't get the comments, roar is much worse. it's musically deficient, the flow of the lyrics makes me think of a perky intro to a show for pre-teen girls, and the oah-oh-oh-oh-oh bit is profoundly fucking annoying. i don't like roar.
The obnoxious video for "Brave" puts it over the top in worstness. Memo from introverts everywhere: making an ass of yourself in public is not "courage."
i would vote for the lesser of two evils but they're too evil
Brave is less annoying in my book.
not a svs patron so not sure if i get to comment, but i voted roar because it gets played on the radio a lot less and is therefore Way Less Annoying, even tho both are very annoying
Just to show how similar these songs are: https://ruinedmusic2000.bandcamp.com/track/brroaavre
Going for Brave over Roar, but yeah, they're the exact same song.
Both bad
