In the beginning of this, you said how LB also got the bullied kids to be fans, and that was absolutely the Wes Borland effect. He stuck out about as sorest a thumb as a sore thumb could stick out in this group and that appealed to A TON of people.

S
Stormy K. · May 13, 2025

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" was deemed too slow, but "Behind Blue Eyes" wasn't?? (I completely missed LB/numetal despite being roughly the correct demographic at the time, so that's all I've got lol.)

A
Angela · May 13, 2025

I will defend Gothika to the death(it was arguable the start of my love of horror movies)...but man that music video for Behind Blue Eyes was awful. Even 13 year old me was embarrassed by it.

A
Arbor Rainier · May 13, 2025

genuine question: by what metric is almost over probably the most successful song from the album like todd said ? from what i can gather it was never released as an official single and did manage to make it to #33 on the mainstream rock charts but that's it. or did he say most successful non single n i missed that ?

M
Mouser · May 13, 2025

I think he meant artistically successful, not commercially. That is, the song succeeds at what it's trying to do.

A
Arbor Rainier · May 13, 2025

one of my most blasphemous musical opinions is that i kind of think the behind blue eyes cover is good ,,,, if you don't know the original. like it's objectively worse then it and kind of missed the point but i really like how atmospheric it is and the speak n spell i think works quite well from a purely musical level

J
Jordan Blossey · May 13, 2025

I don't agree, but I can't help but respect something that is genuinely a Hot Take.

A
Arbor Rainier · May 13, 2025

great episode ! this one felt like the cousin to the st anger episode in a lot of ways except i like this one better (not that the st anger trainwreckord wasn't a great episode in its own right)

So many ruined birthday parties in the 90's when the kid unwrapped a Fred Durst Furby.

As a wrestling fan from the late 1990's and early 2000's, I apologise for the part we played in the success of Limp Bizkit xD

D
David L. · May 12, 2025

I once saw a tweet saying "wrestling fans talk about the My Way promo package like it's Citizen Kane" and yeah that nails it

Eat You Alive sounds like they were trying do a Tool thing

A
Arbor Rainier · May 13, 2025

that explains why the riff is actually kind of interesting !

Z
Zachary Grizzle · May 12, 2025

Great video!! The musics a little loud at the very end of your conclusion, it drowns your VO out

J
Janus “Number One Man-Bat Fan” Simonsen · May 11, 2025

Don’t know much about LB, but I have read/watched Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. And there is a reference to LB in Part 6, so when I made my playlist of all the references back in high school, I put Eat You Alive as the song for that reference. I thought the song was ugly enough to match the Stand the reference was attached to, which was about a gangster making invisible zombies. Limp Bizkit, ladies and gentlemen!

M
Michael · May 11, 2025

Love Nu metal - grew up on Korn, Slipknot, coal chamber, etc but I never considered Limp in the genre. Why? Because behind blue eyes was the first song I heard by them. I just assumed all their songs sounded like that as it got so much radio play. I just checked - Behind Blue Eyes is their second most popular song on Last.fm behind break stuff.

L
Lanth · May 12, 2025

Man, that is wild information and I'm not sure what to do with it.

V
Videokind · May 11, 2025

An interesting tidbit I learned about Fred Durst is that he was one of the extreme few who were pro-Napster at the time - the other one off the top of my head being Dave Grohl. I just thought that was neat c:

F
Funny_Hat · May 11, 2025

Great video, I’ll go down with the ship that they’re not the worst band ever. Definitely not a good band, no, no. Just not the worst ever.

B
Becca, lobster no longer! · May 11, 2025

I don't have much to say about Limp Bizkit, but since it came up, I would like to go on record as being possibly the only person on earth who genuinely likes Wind It Up

T
Tim Mackie · May 11, 2025

Apparently “Down Another Day” was Fred’s attempt to write a song in the style of Mazzy Star

H
Henry 182 · May 11, 2025

Worst lead single? I know people feel bad for Bieber now, but what about "YEAH YOU GOT THAT YUMMY YUM THAT YUMMY YUM THAT YUMMY YUMMY"

R
Russet Burbank · May 11, 2025

Give 'em credit, they ruined "Behind Blue Eyes" in a way I wasn't expecting.

T
TheHolyJebus · May 11, 2025

Apparently Todd is not the only person to get Twilight vibes from "Eat You Alive," seeing as the first time I ever heard it was in an Edward Cullen AMV in 2009.

J
Jonathan Hunter · May 11, 2025

Date rape . douchebag, frat boy rap-metal. The nadir of white boy music.

J
Jordan Blossey · May 11, 2025

I remember VH1 roasting the "Behind Blue Eyes" cover on one of their "Worst Songs" show. I believe Ryan Cabrerra (remember him?) pulled out the Speak N Spell during the L-I-M-P part. This was also my intro to the song, unfortunately. :/

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I agreed "Behind Blue Eyes" was a mistake and should've never happened but for a different reason then Todd-I never liked that song to begin with as I was never a Who fan honestly, they just never grabbed me for some reason.

J
Judgesaturn507 · May 10, 2025

41 minutes. We are feasting tonight.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

Gothika is actually pretty damn good, Perfect Stranger I believe was the one with the "villain all along" twist, Gothika is a bit more complicated, basically it's "Berry's husband was evil all along and one of his victims possessed Berry and used her to kill him", pretty underrated film IMO.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I dunno I can think of way worse lead singles then "Eat You Alive", "7 Years" comes to mind.

P
Projection Booth Podcast · May 10, 2025

I was in L.A. once for an attempt at a game show. For whatever reason, Fred Durst was in the same bathroom at the studio taking a leak. I couldn't believe just how tiny he is.

N

R

8:32 "girl from Ghost World" has some bad video quality Awkward cut at about 17:46

J
John Seiler · May 10, 2025

I think it’s a little curious saying a cover was a bad song for a lead single when Faith was the big hit I think a lot of people learned about them.

T
The Hand Of The People · May 10, 2025

Crown Royal sitting between this and Chocolate Starfish basically confirms Fred used his last creative juices on THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ, THEM GURLZ

S
Sadie S · May 10, 2025

Confirmed: Todd has hair. This is like the time I saw John Oliver doing standup and discovered he had legs. Also if Todd wants to do a follow-up video on the making-of documentary, I would 1000% watch that.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I knew he had hair was there was one Channel Awesome video where he showed up sans hoodie and you could see his face and everything, forget which video it was though.

M
Martin Sternelius · May 10, 2025

Damn, Fred Durst had some serious problems with THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS, THEM GIRLS

My phase happened after the genre lost popularity.

S
SynGirl · May 10, 2025

Not really an error, but you discuss the lyrics of the "near the end song" without putting them onscreen, which I appreciate when you do. Great video otherwise, possibly obe of your funniest episodes to make up for being one of your saddest covered albums.

W
Wyatt · May 10, 2025

RMV has gotten a bit of warmer reception from hardcore fans in recent years, for trying new things and being more vulnerable than usual. I can kinda hear that; I like the despair of "Underneath The Gun" and "Down Another Day" and stuff like that, and even in "Eat You Alive" (which I actually like the semi-Deftones riff for) it's easy to hear the narrator being, ultimately, pathetic and his own worst enemy. But Fred can't bring himself to commit to that vulnerability for whatever reason, and that little light show in the "Eat You Alive" video and making out with Halle Berry undercuts it all (not to mention the stock tough-guy tracks like "Phenomenon"). This could've been a new wrinkle in the Limp Bizkit mythos if Fred was willing to go all the way with the sadboi stuff, but instead we got this self-contradictory mess. I do feel some sympathy for Fred - it'd be easy to call him a creep at the way he cozies up to A-list girls, but... I think releasing Results May Vary is karma enough

K
Kristopher Bluth · May 10, 2025

Me and my wife watching the video. ME: Okay, you can look. They’re done. HER: No! You said that twice and they’re still making out!

H
Herbieguy · May 10, 2025

One of the very few Trainwreckords where the artist in question was never good to begin with.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

strongly disagree, I think LB are a pretty good band.

O
Oisín Harrell · May 10, 2025

To get the errors out of the way: a few commenters have already mentioned the audio drop at the end of the video. Only other thing I noticed is that when you mention Al Jourgensen, you cut to a close-up of Gibby Haynes from the Jesus Built My Hotrod video. Otherwise though, excellent work. I always saw The Unquestionable Truth (Pt. 1) as being Limp Bizkit’s true Trainwreckord. Like I don’t know if an EP can be a Trainwreckord, but it showed that bringing Wes back wasn’t the answer to everything and that Fred really didn’t know what he was doing with the hard pivot to topical songs (the lyric about taking his kid to Sunday school so a priest can FUCK HIM is still the most laugh out loud thing he’s ever done). And it bombed hard enough that there was never an Unquestionable Truth (Pt. 2) and seems to be left out of the Limp Bizkit nostalgia tour. Results May Vary is like a Fairweather Johnson, where this is more of a Passage – except without the good parts. And Ross Robinson produced it, so it’s like he came back to witness the death of that thing he helped create.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

Agreed 100%, that album is FAR worse then RMV, at least RMV isn't boring as fuck like that album is.

G
Gene Younkin · May 10, 2025

They put out the crap they did yet denied us Al Jorgensen humiliating Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit flailing their way through No New Tales To Tell? Monsters! Everyone behind this album is a monster!

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

Sadly Al would do a pretty good job of humiliating himself on that truly horrendous Ministry album Amerikkkant(or however the fuck that piece of shit is spelled)he embarrassed himself with that far more then Fred ever did, that would actually be a pretty good candidate for Trainwreckords come to think of it.

C
Citizen Calmar · May 10, 2025

To me, Limp Bizkit has exactly one redeeming quality: "Break Stuff" is on my "Anger Management" playlist, because it's very cathartic when you're just in a foul mood for what you know are ultimately very petty reasons but you just need something loud and pissy to let off steam to. I don't listen to it at any other time, because it's not actually a GOOD song. But when you need it, it's there. Thanks, Fred Durst, you insufferable incel frat boy.

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I think they have some good songs in general like Boiler, also Durst isn't an "incel" at all, you don't see him going on embarrassing far-right social media rants like the lead singer for Trapt.

Q
Quinn · May 10, 2025

So no head?

S
Shiny Skunk · May 10, 2025

Putting this up on my big screen and making popcorn for it, hell yeah brother edit: loved this one! Fred Durst always looks like he's thinking about a burger. Also there's some sound issues at the outro segment, background music drowns out your voice a bit.

K
Kristopher Bluth · May 10, 2025

Isn't the entire genre a Trainwreckord? It's funny how I never feel more like a 50-year-old than when I'm watching your videos... NOW THAT I'VE ACTUALLY WATCHED THE DAMN VIDEO: Wow. I never heard any of Limp Bizkit other than what was on the radio, but...wow. I think this might elbow past MTV Unplugged 2.0 to make my Top Three Worst Trainwreckords (in case you're wondering, One is Cut the Crap and Two is Summer in Paradise).

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

not really no, I definitely wouldn't put this album in on the same level as Mardi Gras or that Cher/Greg record.

In one of my college courses we had to watch a video that talked about how women were portrayed in music videos and the video for "Eat You Alive" was one of the ones they highlighted.

C
Crimson Nova · May 10, 2025

Results May Vary! The record that did Limp Bizkit in. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a popular band losing that much momentum that quickly purely through the music and not by Milli Vanilli-level scandals. But then again, it turns out losing your most talented member is a bit of a deal-breaker. Who knew?

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I dunno i'd say that was Unquestionable Truth Part 1 as it did even worse sales wise and didn't do well with fans, it did poorly enough that there never was a part 2 and you never see the band perform songs from it anymore, it was misguided attempt at being more serious and topical and instead just came off as boring and pretentious.

R
Ryan Storey · May 10, 2025

"They even get Snoop Dogg to show up." The man just got cast in a Paw Patrol movie. He will clearly say yes to anything. If you ask him to babysit your kids, he'll probably do it if you give him weed.

Couldn't hear the concluding statement over the background music. Also, I swear Halle Berry and Ariana DeBose have the same [terrible, incompetent, should be escorted out of Hollywood on a rail] agent, because holy shit, why did anyone think the first thing she should star in AFTER becoming the first African-American actress to win Best Actress at the Oscars was a Limp Bizkit music video?!

R
RedBedroomRecords · May 10, 2025

I liked Jinx and i'm bummed that film never happened, it was due to Hollywood getting cold feet and thinking action movies with female leads weren't viable after Tomb Raider Cradle of Life, Charlie's Angels Full Throttle, Aeon Flux and Elektra all did poorly at the box office.

V
Vincent Lamontagne · May 10, 2025

Weren’t they also accused of holding these tryouts for a new guitar player only to be able to get some new riffs from all the candidates? I remember hearing out that too, that they had people sign away any rights to any riffs they played during these auditions, and they had to come up with original stuff too

A

OMFG, I get to watch a new Trainwreckords episode when it's fresh and new! Finally, I got lucky... Or did I? Nah, of course, I love Trainwreckords and the rest of Todd's content. I just can't stand Limp Bizkit. They're among the chucklefucks who scared me away from anything metal for a long time. I just hope Todd didn't hold back on dunking on them!

R

I've been keeping up an ultimate "Worst Lines of Trainwreckords" list that includes such examples as "peñius colada", "modren man", and most recently, Kid Rock trying and failing to tell a joke with "I think I just shit my pants". If you are reading this, have the time, have watched this new episode, and think you know what the worst line of lyrics from the covered album is, that is in this episode, I would appreciate leaving a reply with your opinion. I want to get an accurate consensus. (And I'm actually gonna post my list in the comments of the official upload of this episode this time. Have not done that in a while cuz I 've felt like no one really cares.)
