EVE Online’s PLEX Deals Are Possibly The Best They Have Ever Been, What’s Going On?

So the dreaded Omega clone is something that every EVE player has to deal with, the wise amongst us will watch all year round for the best plex deal / Omega deal and often they sub their main for the full year based on this. Single big cost but over the months works out to be the best deal.

But is it?

Plex deals coming up to Black Friday have always been quite good but the one this year 2025 perhaps is the best and that’s the concerning bit. Compared to previous deals this one could be the best deal CCP Games have made yet:

April 2024 Deal

• Offer: 3,000 PLEX for $100 + 60 bonus PLEX

• Effective ISK value: ~312 million ISK bonus

• Impact: Brought the monthly Omega cost down to ~$8.33 for a 12-month plan.

January 2025 Compilation

So all this is a good thing right? Well perhaps not, when a company extends certain deals and discounts to a record level, it often signals that the company needs a quick massive injection of funds and this often comes back to the basis that any company, even a profitable one like CCP Games, needing a huge, quick injection of money means trouble.

If I were a betting man (which I am) I would guess this is to up the company cashflow, this is a wise thing to do prior to any buy out or sell off as it temporarily increases the perceived value of the company and means a better sales price for the seller, whomever that may be.

So who knows why CCP games have thrown us one of the best PLEX deals in years, id say take advantage of it but just don’t plex for too many years…
