ELF KINGDOM — Update 0.7.5 | Free
🎮 One of the Final Steps Before Release!
I’m finally at one of the last steps before I can release the new update.
I’ve already fixed all the bugs I’ve found during my testing. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that players will always find something I didn’t notice, no matter how much I test the game, simulate the code, and replay different parts over and over again. Hahaha.
Originally, this update was supposed to be mainly about the animations. After being without my PC for so long, I managed to finish the animations relatively quickly, but I honestly didn’t feel right releasing an update with only 5 animations and calling that a full update.
So I ended up using the extra time to rework several things from the beginning of the game.
I obviously didn’t redo everything, because at one point I was almost going crazy going through all the old code. I had to revisit a lot of my old defines, defaults, and systems that I had originally coded in a pretty messy and lazy way.
I ended up rewriting and reorganizing a lot of it, and the result is much better now.
One of the things I added to the beginning of the game is a better menu, with cleaner and more polished options.
I also added a new summary that appears when the player goes to sleep, showing what happened during the day.
💰 Gold: how much you spent and earned
🍞 Food: how much you spent and earned
💧 Water: how much you spent and earned
The screenshot doesn’t show any values because, during this particular test, I didn’t gain or spend anything from those three resources. Hahaha.
So that’s basically where things are right now.
I’m finishing the last details, doing the final tests, and getting everything ready for release.
