Hello everyone!

I wanted to share some updates about the development of the game, as well as a few ideas I have in mind for the community as a whole.

Over time, we’ve made quite a few changes and improvements to the game. A lot has changed since the earlier versions, and I’m continuing to work on improving the experience, both visually and in terms of systems and content.

🖥️ A Small Pause on the Animations

For now, I had to take a small break from working on the animations for a slightly less planned reason: I think I may have burned out the power supply in my personal PC, hahaha.

For about two months, I had been saving a bit of my salary to buy some ARGB fans that I thought looked absolutely amazing. When I finally bought them, I was really happy. I had been waiting for them for a while, and as soon as they arrived, I went straight to install them.

The fans worked perfectly.

The problem was that the PC wouldn't properly start. The fans and lights would turn on, but there was no video output, and my keyboard and mouse weren't receiving power either.

I talked to a friend on Discord, and he suggested a few things to try. He told me to disconnect the power supply cables and reconnect them, as well as remove the motherboard battery, wait about 10 minutes, and then put it back in.

I thought, "Alright, let's try it."

So I did exactly that.

And after that, the PC simply stopped turning on completely, hahaha.

Before, at least the fans were spinning. After messing with the cables, absolutely nothing would turn on anymore.

So I'm taking the PC to a technician I trust today to have it checked. Hopefully I can get it fixed quickly, because I want to use this weekend to get back to working on the scenes, editing them, adding the sounds, and continuing development normally.

But this situation actually led me to another thing I've been thinking about for the animations.

🎙️ Voice Acting for the Animations

After a conversation I had with a player, an interesting idea came up.

He mentioned that although the animations already have sounds, they could be even better with actual voices for the characters. I thought it was a really interesting idea, so I decided to look into how much it would cost to hire a voice actress to provide the character voices during the animations.

And that's when I realized that maybe I'm wasting my time making a game, hahaha.

Maybe I should be working as a voice actor for +18 animations in games and videos, because apparently that's where the money is.

I ended up talking to a voice actress who already works with some 3D animations, and the conversation went really well. We talked about how the work would be done, the type of voices I wanted, and everything else.

Until she gave me the price.

Almost $300.

I was honestly pretty shocked by the price, especially because I found out that they don't charge per scene. They charge by the minute of audio.

So the longer the final audio file is, the more expensive it becomes.

And I wanted something a little more elaborate. I didn't just want to add some sounds to the animations. My idea was to actually have the characters' dialogue voiced during the scenes, so they would have proper voices while the conversations are happening.

But then I did some quick mental math:

If just the sounds would already cost around $300, imagine how much it would cost to voice all the dialogue too.

I didn't even have the courage to ask, hahaha.

For now, this idea will have to wait. I really like the possibility, and I think voices could improve the animations a lot, but the cost is still quite high for where the project is right now.

Even with these little problems along the way, I'm still working on the game and looking for ways to improve the quality of the animations and the rest of the project.

As soon as my PC is back, I'll continue from where I left off and use the weekend to get back to working on the scenes.
