๐Ÿ“œ Devlog โ€” 0.7.5 Update Delayed

Hey everyone, I wanted to give you a quick update on the progress of Elf Kingdom.

Unfortunately, version 0.7.5 will probably be delayed beyond the 25th, which was the date I was originally aiming for.

The problem this time isn't really the game itself. It's my operating system.

A few days ago everything was working normally. My PC was running fine, I was making animations, rendering images, downloading files, and working on the game without any major problems.

Then Windows 10 reached the end of its support, and since then my system has been behaving terribly.

Every time I restart or turn the PC back on, Windows keeps pushing the Windows 11 upgrade notification. At this point it honestly feels like my computer is being held hostage until I upgrade. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And the weirdest part is that it's not just one program.

The software I use to create the animations and images simply stopped opening. I left my PC running overnight until around 6 AM, when I had to wake up and go to work, thinking that maybe it was just taking a long time to load.

It still hadn't opened.

I ended up uninstalling it and I'm currently trying to download it again.

Even my downloader, which I use to download the files I need for development, is now having problems. It barely downloads anything because the system keeps freezing or becoming unresponsive.

That's what makes this especially frustrating: this wasn't happening a few days ago.

Everything was working normally, and now suddenly multiple completely unrelated programs are struggling at the same time.

So at this point, I'm fairly convinced that the problem is somewhere in my Windows installation/system environment, rather than the game itself.

I'm trying to figure out what's going on and get everything working again. Until I can reliably use the programs I need for animations, renders, and development, there's not much point in promising a specific release date.

The good news is that the game itself hasn't been abandoned or stopped. I'm still working on 0.7.5, and the content and systems are already being prepared. The delay is purely because my development environment decided to become my newest enemy.

I'll keep working on it whenever I can and, hopefully, I'll get this mess sorted out soon.

And if Windows keeps asking me to upgrade to Windows 11 every time I turn the PC on, I might start taking it personally. ๐Ÿ˜‚
