Gas Followup

Hello Patrons,

In the long gas video Jordan mentioned that there was a followup video in the works that covers a few other aspects of the topic. This partly includes new talking points that have emerged while the main video was in production. Here's the video.

This will go out shortly to the public but we still wanted to give you a bit of an early look because you all seemed to enjoy getting the big video a few days early. We'll have another patreon poll for you soon and get back to more frequent posting now that these heavy hitters are out.

Thank you all for your support,
The FJ Crew

It's also very funny that the research for this gas tax is only 3 pages long. Also, David Pocock complained that one of the gas lobbies links was a dead link but on The Australia Institute's research paper pushing for the gas tax, https://australiainstitute.org.au/report/we-have-already-missed-out-on-63-8-billion-in-taxes-from-gas-exports/, the fourth link that goes to their own website is a dead link ... Utter hypocritical hilarity

Love these videos FJ’s and team! Fucking great work, never thought of the online campaign as hipster MAGA and the trump voice to describe Deadshit David Pocock was fucking genius

Seriously, mate, you’ve convinced me. I was mostly on board with the ‘tax the gas’ slogan. This is the first counter argument I’ve heard. You make a compelling argument.

I still think the government is underselling our position. In the current global energy crisis, Australia's leverage has never been greater — and the government is choosing not to use it.

If Australia didn't have people like Friendlyjordies and Mr M History pushing back against the constant barrage of billionaire funded propaganda, we would all become brainwashed and have no idea how fucked we are getting. Keep up the amazing work!

Pls rethink the background music, this feels like being at a club at 4am with a mate who starts talking politics after a couple lines

Also an example of an analogy that has never happened btw

I still remember listening to the podcast where Richard Dennis was talking about his book trying to pick apart the strawman that is the sensible centre by strawmanning what the opposing sides and the centre were, because it was the only way he could argue the sensible centre strawman. The sensible centre is normally used in political circles as a shorthand to describe a negotiated agreement between opposing ideas that they can live with; political commentators use it to argue their position is the sensible centre or the “sensible” one regardless of how insane it is with a modicum of context. I sit very politically left, and it’s becoming abundantly clear that the left is primed for a left wing Trump, we’re just lucky that most of the left wing populists have been mostly people of integrity.

So many bang-on impersonations. I love the Pocock impersonations, those are GOLD

BOOOOOOM - @jordan can you please clip this absolute clanger video for socials, for all the Tik Tok “erm ackshully’s” who have the attention span of 15 seconds - sick of seeing “ummm cool, but tax the gas” on every Labor post - this is war and we need maximum ammunition. God speed, comrade🔴

S
Samuel Hanman · May 29, 2026

what I've been seeing is endless comments about Labor allegedly kicking a bunch of disabled people off the NDIS (with no mention of a singular reason why they would be cracking down on the NDIS). I enjoy Sloan Zone but his comment section is full of those comments whenever he ever mention Labor in even a skerrick of a positive light

Watch these captured "independents" either not acknowledge this or double down in sunk cost

Also that Dennis bloke looks like a perpetually frightened fish

A
Alex Isaac · May 29, 2026

Are you guys going to break up the first video into pieces so people can watch it easier. I know it needs context but we need shorter videos to spread.

P
Prison Mike · May 29, 2026

It seems like this video is the shorter version of the 2 hour video, despite it being called a follow up.

Gus · May 29, 2026

Pocock-Trump was genius

Trumcock or Pump?

GovNerd · May 29, 2026

The first gas video was some of your finest work - nearly 2 hours of solid gold. Looking forward to watching this. By the way, are we gonna get your reaction to the Mahmood Fazal sacking story?

C
Chief Maez · May 29, 2026

The only person that’s been advocating for a export tax on future projects and not current ones is Ed Husic. But all the media coverage of him talking about it makes it look like he’s in lock step with the cross bench

B
Blake Walden · May 29, 2026

Because he's very poor at communicating that.

J
John Delaney · May 29, 2026

Nice

A
Alex Mitchell · May 29, 2026

I’m curious whether Punters Politics responds to any of this. He’s been a pretty big voice behind this talking point, and he’s definitely captured a lot of attention doing it.

T
Thomas · May 29, 2026

I respect that he wasn’t bought up in either of the videos. Mr M has his own podcast on Patreon “is the tide turning?” where he states that his game plan is to create cynicism around the government and that “[he] can’t win” because by taking a policy over party position, he shifts the focus from something of espírits de corps to moral superiority. Besides, you can’t kill a Cerberus let alone a Hydra by cutting off one of its heads, even if it is barking the loudest. Edit - all edits were made because I wanted the quotes to be correct. Doesn’t detract from the message. Listen to the podcast if you have time.
