Hate Speech law Jan 21: Do we have enough checks and balances to make sure a future government can't just declare dissenters to be a 'hate group' and their symbols 'hate symbols'? As someone said, there's more than one way to destroy social cohesion. Is the decision-making all in the lap of the AFP Commissioner and ASIO? There seems to be a 'convention' that they get agreement from the states, but that can be ignored? In practice, is this just going to be used as another way for police to persecute poor people and immigrants? I know we don't have a bill of rights, but what happened to freedom of association? Is it true that we're now criminalising 'ridicule' and 'contempt' of protected groups? If so, I'm in trouble.

The information within the video is very good and accurate, I think the issue I had with the video specifically is that it's a little difficult to follow, almost like the information is a delivered a bit too quickly. It took me a couple of watches at certain points to understand what was being said due to the topics around this issue jumping around quite quickly.

How is a failing of our intelligence community and police force in 2019 the fault of Albo? How could they even be on Labor’s radar if they were off ASIOs radar before they were in office?
