Video Suggestion Thread
Hello Patrons,
We're looking for video suggestions to put into a poll soon, you'll be able to vote on what video(s) we make. We're still working on the winner of last month's poll, it was on Future Made in Australia and if we made something straight away it would be very similar to our recent video on FMIA.
So we're looking at making something more comprehensive down the line on that topic, instead we've already produced and released a bunch of videos that received a lot of votes in the last poll.
Read through the comments that have already been posted in the replies and give likes/ replies to topics you want turned in videos. That will help us choose the popular ones to be included in the poll.
For this suggestion thread we're opening it up to all free members as well as paid. We'll be trying to give the paid members an extra early video this week though as well.

Check out this person who has been making some absolutely absurd boomer ragebait: https://www.youtube.com/@brookomoves Turns out she works for news.com.au as an editor??? They have licensed her content. She posts her own content as stories there. She just had an ACA segment: https://9now.nine.com.au/a-current-affair/woman-films-search-for-a-first-home-in-depressing-reflection-of-perth-property-market/a45b40a6-d47a-4c39-97c1-05a1e9c1d013 From her linked in: https://au.linkedin.com/in/brooke-rolfe-029262148 "Experienced digital media professional with over a decade in fast-paced newsroom environments. Watch some of her videos. They are bonkers and clearly staged.
Two words "Gary Stevenson" A collaboration with him can help move the narrative, especially around the superannuation changes and taxing accounts with $3M at a higher rate Plus, he was a former Citi Bank trader, changing the dialogue in the UK somewhat around wealth taxes. A little of that moving of the overton window in the Australian context would not hurt (but, as already pointed out, UK < Australia)
Talk about the disaster that is the Under 16 Social Media ban and the rest of the crap the eSafety Karen has done and is doing.
I have voted the current government all 3 times I've been allowed to vote. If I knew this was going to be pushed I whould have voted the libs.
I know it's very unlikely that you'll see this comment so I'll most likely post it again if there's another thread like this, but I really think you should make a video digging into the rabbit hole that is Collective Shout, it's been "trending" sort of due to their most recent activism against Visa and Mastercard, from what little I've seen of them I can say they're right nasty.
This this: The "future is exciting" video was great campaign material, especially since most of the public hasn't even heard of it, but now that the elections over I think we could all use the hopium of exactly what Labor is going to be unfolding for us for the next 6 years. http://reddit.com/r/friendlyjordies/comments/1lyshuv/jordan_should_make_more_videos_on_future_made_in/
Oh or the inherent limitations of Sydney and that for economic expansion and the economic basis that is necessary to avoid ecological exploitation we need a tunnel through the blue mountain involving separated freight rail and standard vehicle traffic. Can explain more if needed
Jordies induces paranoia in National party reputedly corrupted local governments. All the airs of investigative journalism. Kristo calls everyone everyone While finally doing the warhammer video
Can you do a video on united workers union, or yilmaz

Warhammer content
South Australian government banning all political donations, that is huge!
Very niche story but a good one, we're engaging in unionising my profession of optometry, I've been one of the people publicly associated with the union and pushing things along, but there's a treasure trove of Medicare fraud, KPIs based on sales, corporate thuggery, corruption at unis, association bodies and unsavory tactics, the most recent which I've been served a cease and desist but have union backing of which our well known general secretary is now stepping in, he basically looks like a mob boss and things are getting spicy, we've already been in contact with Michael West Media with some releases but would love to reach more people as it's our patients in the end who are being affected
updates on the current labor governments initiatives, housing, taxes, Medicare etc.. is nice to keep up with progress, even photos or videos on the new housing being built.
Maybe a little sum sum on NSW? I'm a bit of a mush head in need of a think tank to do the thinking for me ;D

You've done a lot on the greens but maybe do a bit on the rise and fall of the Australian Democrats and how the greens are on a similar trajectory, house falls first then their senate will collapse
FredBloggs is old enough to remember Natasha Stott-Despoja and her Doc Martens boots. Lately she's been heading up the DV Royal Commission, due to deliver a report in August. Interesting.
reacting and commenting older videos. I remember in one you said independents only take votes from labor and the greens are ok. Just any video where you changed your mind on something would be interesting
Can we have an update on land clearing in NSW since Labor came to power? Have they done anything to undo the damage that the liberals did? How are koala populations faring now? Thank you for your work.

Perfect suggestion ❤️
It's such a dummy topic but i'm pretty sure it would do well. WW3 - is it gunna happen - aus implications
With there being a republican president, war in the middle east, new Linkin Park album, Michael Bay directing new transformers movies are we in 2007 and can we take a look back at the good old days?
Where's bruz now? Interesting how the corrupt always land on their feet.
I'd like to see a video going into some of the non-major parties/movements that partook in the last election to look at how their policies were overall. The Muslim Vote people in particular would be interesting to see, as I was only able to gleam their support for Gaza during any and all of their promotional stuff I saw (so I don't know if they support/oppose stuff like the IR reforms or the FMIA plan). It's also an opportunity to laugh at some of the more stupid ones like the Libertarian party lol.
All the dirt you have on Rio Tinto. And I'm totally not lobbying rn because I'm from Serbia and they're about to ruin my county

Id like you to tell me about all the different prime ministers in Aus history. Id like to hear about their policies and the major effects each government had on how the country has been shaped... cos Im too lazy to study it all myself.

Why Jacinta Allan is not completely terrible (though she is privatising everything)
Why some of the McDonald's signs are REALLY low
A video adjacent to digital privacy in the my health record rollout. Excellent idea but not very well implemented, there was an amendment in 2018 that improved some of the concerns. This could then segway into the new social media ban for <16 year olds and how everyone will have to prove their age and (possibly) identity online.
Came here to find this. Is age verification, tracking, surveillance and censorship the topic of the week or is it just me? Jordies team, do you do 'topic of the week' or do you try to avoid that? Do you need to avoid talking about something so tightly connected to YouTube?
I was thinking, what would be the difference between a Labor MP and a pragmatic Greens MP? Other than the accent, I mean
So much to talk about for NSW health, the wild mismanagement of hospitals, massive disparity between rural and Sydney but even inside Sydney. The mass resignations etc.
Happy to elaborate further if useful
Its been mentioned by others too, but I would like to hear about the current state of NSW Minns government and how we've benefited since they've been voted in. Hearing about they're controversies, particularly about the anti-semetism laws and the run-in with police and Greens MP Hannah Thomas, would be interesting too.
With the Latouff verdict we need a full exposee of the ABC management - the bias and capture of liberal political talking points masquerading as 'Impartiality' - there are people behind each of the actions and more importantly inactions regarding the lack of adherence to the charter. It is a captured public entity which squanders money trumpeting a liberal bias for which there is no grass roots suport - Name names and perhaps 'run through the basement with a microphone' to get an honest look at those responsible.
FUNERAL HOMES CONFESSIONS!! FFS!!
Expose the Atlas Network activity in local council.
A Video i believe would be necessary to make is one i'd title; Why TheJuiceMedia Sucks/Exposing TheJuicemedia, or something like that. At this point it's no secret what your opinion is on them so it wouldn't come out of nowhere to make a video on them, the thing that gets me is why your opinion on them is that severe, because if I remember correctly you used to be acquainted despite the differences, and even made a cameo in one of their videos with Michael West. So I'm really curious how it went from collaborating with them to now calling them out, why did your opinion change of them and how disingenuous did you find them out to be?
Jordies team, please do the links between Isaac Newton and Christian Zionism!

I'm serious — read a copy of A Merciful End by Ian Dowbiggin. Early proponents of abortion, birth control, and what would become the right-to-die movement also believed in euthanasia of the mentally handicapped on compassionate grounds
A rundown of ethical companies we can use in our day to day lives for the necessities, e.g banking, superannuation, etc. I know you've put bits and pieces in videos before but it would be awesome to have a one stop video breakdown of these companies and their policy's for people who don't have the know how to cut through the bullshit
I can recommend Bank Australia, but a lot of other credit union banks are good for ethics. And for clothes the ethical fashion guide by Baptist world aid is a great source. Hopefully that helps.
So we don't become an echo chamber of our own idealism. What about do 1 video at least on a street interview with random people about immigration. Get a mix of everyone young and old and ask them questions like. As an immigrant to Australia do they/should they have a sense of national pride and what would they do if Australia was to go to war and start conscription. Are they apart of a union, if not would they join. How do they feel about unions. Who did you vote for in the last election and why. Which policy mattered most to you.
I dunno Baz, instead of "bloody immigrants" and drawing a line, just find a bunch of new immigrants who are in unions and get their stories. Especially the nasty stories, especially if a union stepped in Mixed with stories of newer arrivals not in unions and the horrors or a lack of representation plus a lack of anyone around to say "actually your employer can't ask that of you" and being new and unsure Workers "United" will never be divided (I should join my union lol)
The current state of medicare/australian medical facilities and what labor is doing to upgrade it
In Queensland the LNP are stopping upgrades to hospitals. How could Dan Andrews let this happen?
Labor’s NDIS reforms that will save this important scheme for which all Australians should be proud, including: - how previous Lib Gov allowed the NDIS to become a source of easy money for providers with no accountability - how this placed the whole system at risk for participants (the people that need the care) - how Labor reforms require more provider accountability and aim to reduce price gouging and exploitation of the disabled - how many providers still feel entitled to overcharge and are fighting these reforms - e.g. as of July 1, new NDIS rules reduce the amount providers can charge for some services (fairly), which should reduce the support cost to participants. However, in response many providers are adding new charges such that therapy sessions will now costs MORE for participants.
This is a good one. Like the NBN they absolutely butchered this project! Knowing full well that anything like this when it blows out it will be blamed on Labor! and they can use it as a punching bag for attack ads.
Big video on the Tasmanian election
I know it’s not much of a popular subject, but the QLD LNP government just released their first Budget. It could be funny to look through it and laugh at us Queenslanders for electing this mob. If not that, an update on the NSW Labor government would be nice. Keep up the great work !
Why American politics is blinding young people from Aussie politics and how to cut through that noise to help us stay focussed on what’s happening here.
Some sort of Collab with Mr M History would be cool to see, help bring his numbers uo
Has 2 podcasts on the friendly joredies podcast channel
I'd like an update on the Jordies reading list, even if it's just a patreon-only. What have you read over the past 12 months or so and what were the stand-outs. The history of unions book you recommended the other day arrived in the mail yesterday, cheers for the suggestion.
I WISH that book was available in an audiobook format

The funding models for all 3 branch's of government and why local council funding models is terrible.
Bob Hawke pre-polotics had a speech (I think it was the National Press Club, unsure) where he advocate two levels of government, "federal" and "local council" only. I disagree with him, but at the time of listening he had me nodding along. In government he never held such views
CSB Meme Review - a little spotlight on the pro-Labor content creators would help breathe some life into the movement.
A video on local councils, how they're worsening the housing crisis and just machines to hand out government money to mates and blocking developements because it doesn't fit with what the local population of 60 yr olds think will benefit them
Good idea! From Zann Maxwell's (Labor, Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney) newsletter. "I was in Canberra this week for the annual national conference of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA). I brought a motion calling on the Federal Government to support councils across Australia to introduce Affordable Housing Contribution Schemes. Here in Sydney, we’ve had one for a while — requiring developers to contribute a share of their project’s value to fund community housing providers to build new affordable housing." Bit of a joke considering Minns is about to give them a floor by which they can sell housing. Showing councils have a real problem helping normal folk with housing!

Would love to see this happen
The online booking system and price increases for camping in national parks, making camping in a park with maybe a long drop toilet more expensive then renting a house
I think for the sake of the upcoming fight that is going to happen with Tax reform. However dry, I found your snippets of information a good way for me to talk to others. And if we want reform to be part of this next term. We need the information like you did with FMIA! So as dry as it is "why we need tax reform", "areas that reform should focus on", "why we need to be doing productivity tax reform" namely because the libs sold us down the river BSTDS!. This will inevitably lead to how we can fight back (for want of a better phrase) against the mining cartel or monopolies in general, by creating a broader economy so we aren't held over a barrel again! like in 2009/10... (I am sure that is a large chunk of FMIA) but it's also tax reform, super reform, and housing reform all rolled up into one! Cheers Team!
itd probably be a good idea for jordies to wait until chalmers' roundtable is done to really dig into specific economic issues
Restrictions on access for recreational users of national parks and state parks
You probably won't love his response.
Prescribed Burning practices and ecological demise - a focus on Western Australia and the DBCA, and their practices flying the face of decades of scientific research. South West WA is home to literally thousands of unique species of flora and fauna seen nowhere else in the world and we are seeing this ecological collapse in slow but realtime. Burning practices, done on quota not on science, are rampant and the deliberate governmental ignorance has been consistent again for decades. Something I've learned more about through volunteering. Your team's resources on this would be a huge environmental service. I'd be able to help with getting contacts for an investigative piece, too.
There's been a lot of talk especially about Victoria about the growing debt in state budgets. Would be good to get your perspective on it and what the situation actually is.
That's standard anti Labor rhetoric leading up to the election. Our debt is lower than other states per person.
Political extremes and their reliance on conspirational thinking aka how the Greens protect Labor by housing the elements incompatible with Australian politics.
Chronicles of Torbjorn/fat goth
Can we watch jordies read history from anyone who is an actual respectable historian? Like at a certain point a lot of your fellow traveller and Ali's geopolitics is only authoritative to people already convinced. American empire failing? Jesus christ we have seen them staunch the world and we all concluded that we will get less fucked by the superpower we know. But yeah I doubt that will happen soo, how will the Labor party change now that you have added so many millenials to the movement and that might damage their appeal to non political people?
It's not just Jordan and Ali talking about the fall of America happening but ok.
