For mushoku tensei I hesitated to watch because in general i dislike ecchi or any resembles to loli characters. And for sure it's in the show. I learned to appreciate these bad things as part of the story, while it could have been other bad things... it does fit and not forced. The main character is extremely flawed human but also get's fucked by the world constantly. This contrast is what hooked me in, you end up rooting for a piece of shit until he does something bad again and you get reminded who he is. It's really one of those good shows that i wish i could show people like my sister but it's to fucking awkward to recommend cuz of the bad stuff LMAO. It's a shame because it's becoming one of my fav fantasy shows. Wanted to share my experience instead of telling you why you should watch it, you tend to have some nitpicks like i do :D it's also one of the shows it's gaining views on youtube right now, which is a good first show to try and not be discouraged by views EDIT: To give an other example, other reactors Carlie & Ange. She is very sensitive to these topics (she couldnt watch death note because of early scenes) and she 100% was disgusted by MT early on. But you will see her recent reactions to it, she says she waits for new episodes and loves the show. Again this contrast is interesting to watch, because as viewers most people aren't weirdos and know this is bad stuff. :D
I always like to learn people's opinion and I do feel I would be like you but the repeated frustration would just make me lose my mind lol. I my give it a shot but not film it because I might be too critical of this one and truly gave up if it raises my anxiety (life is already too much!)
Out of all the anime there, I’d really like you to watch Though I Am an Inept Villainess, it’s very good. I also recommend Mushoku Tensei, although I have a love-hate relationship with it. I’d also love to see your reaction to The Apothecary Diaries and Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia. I’m sure you would enjoy them a lot. All of them have great stories.
I shared in another comment the link to my (still in progress because a lot missing) anime list (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_xrwf7UnJYHzVZM78cv8ne1Q1hG4MhQM2-jMt83hFxE/edit?usp=sharing) to give you guys an idea, but i've watched AD already (my mom is a huge fan and excited for S3). i was not attracted by Witch in Mongolia. The drawing were a huge problem for me but I will try to give it a chance
A bit of a switch up from the normal requests, would love to see a reaction to Yu Yu Hakusho if you've never read or watched it.
You can imagine that most stuff made in the 80s and 90s I grew up on haha. I've watched YYH, but it's been a min too. I have a bunch of oldies I'm curious to rewatch as an adult
Guys, I will try to remember more but here are the titles I remember so far! I' watching so many shows (anime/live action, etc) that my brain will explode! But I know there are way much more that were just even a season or two and I never wrote them down... Here in the meantime: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_xrwf7UnJYHzVZM78cv8ne1Q1hG4MhQM2-jMt83hFxE/edit?usp=sharing
Great shows that I didn't see on your list: NHK ni Youkoso! Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Bakuman. Made in Abyss Shinsekai yori
You girls seem like intellectuals so I think you’d enjoy something like Psycho Pass.
Appreciate the nice comment. Here this is for my solo reaction and I have watched PP (and I do like it). It is on my potential list for the girls... you will see when we drop that 'special' video where you guys decide!
Salut! For Mushukou tensei, I agree with all the praise about the animation, production value, and even the worldbuilding to some extent. But whatever you've heard about the weird character dynamics, harem/pedo stuff... it’s honestly even worse than whatever you’re imagining. I really wouldn't recommend watching it, especially if it's something you can't ignore (If you can tho, the animation alone is at such a high level that it's worth watching imo). For Saint Seiya, it's more tricky, thanks to nostalgia, I think the ppl who watched it as kids would probably enjoy it. But nostalgia aside, I'm not sure how well the anime holds up today, can't predict how receptive rest of the viewer base would be. But if it's more for you personally, to discover this monument of Japanese manga/anime culture, then yeah, I think it's definitely worth it. Outside of those 2, if we're talking isekai, there's a LOT of stuff I imagine you could like. Do you have any genre in mind you'd like to explore? Comedy, Action-focus, Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Drama/Mystery/Psychological, Slice of Life, Game/RPG-inspired fantasy, Power fantasy, Slow life/crafting/profession-focused or smth else?
Yeah I wish i could pass those type of things, but history is showing I can't (crying). Saint Seya, I really wanted to re-watch because I remember being in love with the show and I want to see how I process it as an adult. So I do agree with you it is more nostalgia and it will definitely feel cringe at times haha. I do that a lot with very old shows I can't remember and it's always interesting to see how my taste changed (lot of time, favorite character is now different!). So we will see! I did like Isekai a little when I was younger. It's a hit or miss with me but more often a miss... I did enjoy SAO (S1 great, S2 was started to annoy me...). Most Isekai i tried the past 2 years were not holding my attention. I think it's mainly all about the plot and seems like MT would have been a great pick if not for all the sketchy add-ons.
This would be fun for sure!!!!! It would be fun to see you explore genres that you have not gotten into!! If you haven't I would love to recommend Ace of Diamond it is an amazing sports anime very underrated and also of course if you have never done a sports anime then before Ace of Diamond I would recommend Haikyuu!! it is in my top 5 animes through all genres. Can't wait for what you explore!!!!!!
I have actually watched a lot of sport anime. Mainly when i was younger as there were much more of them in my opinion (the captain Tusbasa, Slam Dunk, Racing Brothers, Ashita free kick, Samoura Giants,...). I watching Haikyuu (but to be honest I've been less and less into it). Blue Lock as well and we have just watched earlier this week, with Wendy, the live adaptation and will be posting our review. Ace of Diamond i have seen clips but I don't like baseball at all haha
Any plans for Naruto btw for group reactions?
Told the girls to think about doing it as solo and one of them is thinking about it! Might be too long on our current schedule to do as a team, this would take us 5 years to do lol
I personally have both Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei in my top6 all time favorite animes. But If isekai is not your thing, then I don't see the point in you forcing yourself to watch something you don't really like. I don't think it will make for a great reaction if you don't enjoy it. Trashing on a show is fun for a while, but probably not for the full show :D
I rarely hate on something unless it's absolutely garbage. It would be more of a fitting my tastes or not but it does seem like a bad match right now. I do agree with you that I don't want to force things or pretend so starting something which has a lot of elements I can't get into will lead to chaos haha
Mushoku Tensei is the kind of anime that makes you feel like you’re actually living in its world. The animation is beautiful, the magic and fights are incredible, and the story follows Rudeus from childhood as he grows, travels, builds relationships, and faces moments that completely change his life. It starts like a fantasy adventure, but it becomes much deeper and more emotional than you expect.
But will I as someone who hates Harem and weird (near pedophilic) relationships not be grossed out by that...
Hi, mushoku tensei is for me as a non isekai lover the best i have seen (i only watched s1 and s2) but for me the isekai cliché are there and are annoying especially the fan service and the relationship around the mc. And i droped slime reincarnation after a few épisodes.
And also i just learned that Fool Night is getting an adaptation in november and i realy loved the manga so would recommend when it’s out.
Also have you seen or heard of black clover?
Yes' I read and watched BC (up to date)
Jobless reincarnation is great tbh…definitely can be a bit weird but overall it’s a good show to watch. Maybe you could watch a couple eps and see if it’s worth?
Honestly, my time is so so tight that I would like to get into something I don't need to stop lol
Mt is a big no for you i think, it has some really good stuff like the worldbuilding but if you can’t look past the weird shit (wich it has a lot) its so hard to watch. I genuinely had to force myself to not die when the weird stuff happens
That's what everyone told me
Also your first reaction to something like Kagurabachi when it comes out would be cool
I can't wait for it! I read the manga and was so excited when they picked it up
Hell yeah some extra content is always welcome👍
