“Jesus freak” isn’t very kind
We apologize if this offended you, that was not the attention. if I can explain the thought she had behind it: we do use the word freak a lot, in the sense of "extreme", like in later episodes with Hange (which is a big favorite) or even Pixys at some point I think. The use of the j name was made on association. The fact that the characters seem to be western European and seeing someone religious without knowing the religion used in the show, and reacting live on something happening in the moment = the used of a name related to the closest of what the religious person looks like and the word "extreme".
