Cranked Monday Update - September 21, 2026
Yo! Hope you had a good weekend.
If you're new here, we have a Team Sync every Monday where we talk through our plans for the week. These are the notes from our meeting.
General Updates
The demo is launching October 2. We're putting it out ahead of Steam Next Fest to start building up players, and we've got a crossover promo lined up with Turborilla games for launch week.
The demo will have some physics changes that I'm excited to get feedback on. See the YouTube video at the top of this post for a preview.
Slower pedaling
Retuned ebike
New front-end drop that feels more natural. Going off an edge slowly without pulling up will drop the end as it would IRL. You also get a more natural front end dip on jumps at speed.
Probably some minor tweaks to gravity as well, but I'm still testing that before making a final decision.
The big focus right now is improving performance and crashes in the demo.
If you're on the East Coast, Joe and Bryan will be at the New River Gorge Bikefest in West Virginia the first weekend of October showing off the demo in person. Come check it out if you're local!
Here's what we're focusing on this week
Joe
Dialing in the new bike physics.
Fixing the last UI and controller bugs so we can resubmit for Steam review.
Finishing up the special challenges.
Lakeside Enduro Event
Lakeside Freeride Event
Michael
Deep performance and memory profiling to keep things smooth on more machines.
Improving rider animations and movement.
Sorting out camera lag.
Cedric
Optimizing the main menu scene so it stops eating memory and crashing on lower-spec machines like the Steam Deck.
Damien
Working on tire decals (tire tracks) that get left behind you as you ride.
Getting the Atherton ebike in the game.
Maggie
Fixing up some rider customization, shadows, and overall art polish.
Bryan
Lining up the launch marketing for the demo, including fresh screenshots for the Steam page.
Julian
Social media content. Putting more emphasis on reaching new players.
Thanks to everyone who voted on the hat colors. Onyx black took it, with blue stone green close behind. We ordered samples to check those two colors in person before I decide.
That's the plan for this week. The big one is the demo on October 2, so we're heads-down on performance and polish to make sure it's rock solid.
Lucy says hi!
