Cranked Patch Notes - New User Interface!

This is a big one!

Check the YouTube overview above. Full patch notes below (and also in the game from the main menu).

Heads up: this build bumps the network version, so everyone needs the update to ride online together.

New Stuff

  • The entire UI has been rebuilt from the ground up: main menu, pause menu, settings, HUD, race timing, Lift Pass, bike shop, social, server browser, mods, profile, credits, the lot. Everything you could do before you can still do, it just looks and feels like a real game now, with a night mode to match the time of day.

  • Rad Dog Bike Shop: rider customization is live. Pick your rider, hair, skin tone, tees, shorts, gloves and more from the pause menu or the main menu.

  • All seven zones are open on the Lift Pass, with shuttles to the half zones, zone-wide challenges (total distance, hidden trails) pinned on the map, and lifts and Rad Dog as fast-travel destinations.

  • Radial quick menu: hold dpad-left for fast travel by zone, camera swaps and more. Tap to pin it open.

  • Waypoints: tap A on a map trail to set one. It shows as a green diamond on the map and a tall green beacon of light in the world so you can find it with the minimap off.

  • Pedal and e-bike leaderboards are now separate, so your e-bike times race other e-bikes.

  • Hidden trails stay off the map until you find them.

New Trails:

  • Various new trails around the open world map. Go find them.

Improvements

  • Rider animation overhaul. Hodge has started redoing the rider animations. This is the first batch and still a work in progress, so if you have feedback, let us know.

  • Bike now spins around the rider's pelvis in the air instead of a pivot point, and rolls into airborne spins.

  • Trails now count as ridden without a physical finish trigger, so Mini World Cup, Fledging and about 60 others can finally be marked ridden.

  • Graphics presets now set your view distance.

  • 1199 gets more signs, more tape, and blended roots and stumps.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the rider body vanishing during crashes.

  • Fixed the rider rendering black on High and Ultra quality.

  • Fixed trees and grass not rendering in builds.

  • Fixed the respawn speed boost and upside-down respawns after a crash.

  • Fixed being trapped in event spectate after leaving a downhill race.

  • Fixed the crash-resume flow: clear ground spawn, a 2 second remount countdown, and the remount hold no longer releases instantly.

  • Fixed invisible countdown digits.

  • Fixed map labels and zones crammed into a corner by the 1199 terrain.

  • Fixed dismissing an event notification in drone mode resetting your rider.

  • Fixed e-bike times uploading to mod trail leaderboards.

Balance Changes

  • Your bike no longer creeps downhill when you are stopped and off the pedals.

  • A trail counts as ridden at 75% coverage from the top plus the bottom exit, not just touching both ends.

  • Fast travel only reaches lifts you have unlocked, and travelling to a trail you have not ridden sets a waypoint instead.

Known Issues

  • You can't fast travel to 1199 yet, so fly the drone over.

  • There's no way to play the Wales map in this build.

  • Player profiles are not hooked up yet.

  • Parties and friends are not hooked up yet.

EDIT: I take this all back - it's absolutely great! Just downloaded the latest version and I've got to be honest, I personally much preferred it how it was before. This is the best MTB game I've played by far so I hope you don't mind my feedback. It was great just being able to jump between tracks without having to unlock them all which made the focus just purely riding the tracks and getting better at them. There isn't really much fun is the open world aspect for me and what makes this game great is riding the trails. I feel like the new UI could do with a setting to increase font size etc, it's really small and harder to see split times at a quick glance while racing. The map definitely looks better but I'm struggling to wrap my head around it and just find the trails as easy as it was before - maybe I just need to spend some more time with it. One final thing is, I can now see the hollow end of my arms on my the screen which wasn't a problem before and this is quite jarring. Not sure if this is because I have set the camera back horizontally a little bit and played with FOV, but it was fine on the previous version and looked and felt great. Keep up the great work - this is such a fun game to play and I've spent hours and hours on the previous version and the simplicity was a big part in that for me.

Appreciate the feedback. The arms will be fixed. The game was never meant to be fully unlocked with access to every trail from the start. That’s just how it’s been because we are letting people play the game well before most developers. It’s very unfinished. A lot of things will end up getting locked and out behind progression systems as we continue building out the challenges, etc. Obviously some people won’t like going from having everything unlocked to being restricted. The trails are easier to find IMO. You have everything you had before and more. - Can still see a list of trails in the leaderboards but now they are organized by zone and difficulty. - Can actually select a trail on the map and fast travel to it now. Couldn’t do that before. - Can see and fast travel to challenges now. - Can see which trails you have and haven’t ridden at a quick glance I haven’t started working on accessibility settings yet but I hope to be able to make an option with bigger text. I think the broadcast style race HUD has pretty big splits on the side that are easy to see. The overall feedback on the new UI has been extremely positive. Sorry you’re not loving it. Hard to please everyone. I tried hard to keep the same functionality while adding a bunch more features.

Hi how do you start challenge's

C
Cranked · September 4, 2026

The only ones you actually need to "start" are the race ones. If you fast travel to them, it should start you in the race mode. The other ones you just complete and they'll check off once you complete them.

Excellent game; greetings from Chile. I wanted to ask if it will be possible to adjust the suspension in the future and also if you plan to optimize the game further.

C
Cranked · September 3, 2026

Hey! We will be optimizing a lot in the future. Bike tuning is not in the plans for 1.0. Maybe eventually but I’m also not a huge fan of tuning. It causes confusion and it’s another barrier to get playing. We’ll see what happens.

Hell yea! I've been so excited for this update! The art direction looks so cool too, all the menus and the gameplay are really starting to come together!

Thank you! It was a lot of work getting this new design in there. I’m glad it’s done!
