[Important Notice] Unauthorized Reposting and Sale of MIYAKOYA Artwork & Changes to Future Releases
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of MIYAKOYA.
Today, I have a very important announcement to share with you.
I have discovered that numerous MIYAKOYA illustrations have been reposted without my permission, and many of them are being offered for sale by third parties without authorization.
In some cases, my original MIYAKOYA logos and creator credits have been removed and replaced with other watermarks.
I have spent the entire day thinking about this situation, how I should respond, and what changes may be necessary to protect my artwork and manage future releases.
Because of this, I sincerely apologize, but there will be no new artwork release today.
I am truly sorry to everyone who was looking forward to today's illustrations.
About This Difficult Decision
I have always wanted as many people as possible to enjoy my illustrations, which is why I have continued offering free artwork.
I have also made an effort to keep my creator credits as unobtrusive as possible so that everyone can enjoy the artwork without unnecessary distractions.
However, seeing my illustrations taken without permission and sold by others has been deeply disappointing and upsetting.
I have struggled with this decision over and over again.
I genuinely wanted to continue sharing my work as I always have. I kept asking myself whether there was another solution, or whether I could somehow continue without making these changes.
What troubles me the most is that these changes will also affect those of you who simply enjoy my illustrations and have always supported my work in good faith.
Ideally, I want everyone to enjoy my illustrations without having to worry about large or distracting watermarks.
That feeling has not changed.
Nevertheless, I have come to the conclusion that some protective measures are necessary if I am to continue creating and sharing my artwork with peace of mind.
After a great deal of thought and hesitation, I have made the very difficult decision to change the specifications of free illustrations and adjust access to previously released free posts starting October 16, 2026.
① Changes to Free Illustrations
Effective Date: October 16, 2026
From this date onward, newly released free illustrations will use the following specifications:
Image Size: 800px on the longest side
JPEG Quality: 70%
Watermark: MIYAKOYA watermark placed in the center of the image
Image dimensions and JPEG quality will be reduced, and the watermark placement will be changed.
I sincerely apologize to everyone who enjoys my free illustrations, but these measures are intended to discourage unauthorized reposting and resale.
② Regarding Previously Released Free Illustrations
As part of these changes, free illustration posts published one month or more before October 16, 2026, will no longer be publicly accessible.
Free illustrations published within the past month will remain available.
New free illustrations released on or after October 16 will remain publicly available without an expiration date.
My desire to share my artwork with as many people as possible remains unchanged.
A Final Message
This decision has been anything but easy.
I genuinely wanted to continue sharing my illustrations in the same way as before.
However, given the unauthorized reposting and sale of my artwork, I feel that continuing without taking any protective measures is no longer a reasonable option.
It truly breaks my heart that these changes will also affect the people who have done nothing wrong and simply want to enjoy my artwork.
Even so, I have made this difficult decision because I want to continue creating and sharing MIYAKOYA illustrations for many years to come.
I sincerely hope you can understand why I felt these changes were necessary.
I will continue putting care and dedication into every illustration I create, and I hope to keep bringing you artwork that you can enjoy.
