Seaton's Aunt, Page 3
There! I'll give the boys caps for their athletic uniforms! That's one page where I don't have to draw bowlers.
"We came here to fight, not to surrender," was a message sent by Lawrence Oates during the Boer War. I cribbed this fact from Sarah Airriess’s fantastic graphic novel adaptation of Apsley Cherry-Garrard’s The Worst Journey in the World. In her notes, Airriess comments that if Captain Oates hadn't joined the Scott Antarctic expedition, it'd be the quote he's most famous for. Ouch. Poor Oates.

I am digging this story! Very atmospheric. (Spotted a likely typo: "half-time" -> "half-term"?)
I think something got slightly garbled in editing this short entry, as Apsley Cherry-Garrard (he) was the original author of 'The Worst Journey in the World', which I've just started reading recently. (As it's public domain in the US, there's a very nice free ebook edition via Standard eBooks.) I'm quite interested to know who's adapted it as a graphic novel!
Sorry, fugggg, you're right.
