a small hiatus

hey guys I’m so happy we reached 100k Patreons :) i’ve recently been busy making a few hairs for this amazing goal that I’ve reached but I won’t be releasing them until I come back. completely free no early access :)! While I’ve reached this goal this is not why I’m taking a hiatus I’ve been struggling with my mental health and recent news of my mom having breast cancer and along with my grandmother having a brain tumor :( so much has happened in just a month I wish I could’ve done things a little bit differently if I knew how bad things would get. I’ll just be gone for 3-4 weeks maybe 2-3 weeks it really depends I’ve been so focused on trying to find a job outside of creating hairs since medical bills have piled up, bills in general lol I’ve just been trying to do the right thing but creating right now is more of a task than an art now and sometimes I feel so lost because I feel like I’m always the one giving handouts and breaking my back to make sure everyone is okay irl and no one does the same for me :( but hopefully I can get the proper help and figure this all outttt and it’s also sucks because you can look at me and be like there’s no way she’s going through all of this 😕.

p.s any donations regarding my mother and grandmother would help me alott and also recommendations on what I should do carrying all this at 21? 🥹

Sending light and love as you navigate everything, keeping them both in our thoughts, focus on taking time to be with them and also making time for yourself to process everything, it's a lot <3

Good luck, I’m sorry you’re going through this, idk what to say as I’m not sure how to handle grief or things like this well but someone mentioned looking for programs and I think you could find somewhere that teaches ekg and be hired as an ekg tech? I’m not sure what it’s called. There’s also A-Step for sleep techs if you get a sponsorship hire at a sleep lab and I think they pay for it if it is? You would have to call hospitals/sleep labs and see if they’re looking for sleep tech trainees though! Sorry idk much about it but those are ones I’ve heard of!

To add on though, you can get through this. Don’t isolate yourself, spend time with friends and family, keep yourself occupied it doesn’t have to be working to exhaustion but by doing different hobbies, trying new things, doing things that make you happy

Call on the ancestors pray to God and treasure whatever time no matter how short or how long you get to love them in their physical bodies. Strong doesn’t mean shouldering, sometimes the strongest action is to be present and not mask your feelings.

As someone who lost both grandmothers 6 month apart at 21, what helped me was allowing myself to breakdown when needed and keep pushing through cause I had a lot of people depending on me. It's not easy and some days will be harder than others but there's also moments of peace within the chaos. I'm really sorry you're going through this and I hope at the end of the day everything works out at the end and they both beat cancer 🫂🩷

Take your time! This is hard to deal with. Around your age my dad was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease, which as bad as it was is still incomparable to cancer. In general take as much time as you can with your family and be as helpful as you can be, but also take care of yourself and your mental. If you aren’t already in therapy please make sure to!! There are options like the Loveland Foundation that offers to pay for therapy for black women. This is a tough time to find a job, but if you can find any programs that do paid job training that could help with getting the money you need while upskilling for a job in the future. I hope for the best for you, your mother, and grandmother.

And as for what you should do is surround yourself with those who can pour into your and reduce any anxiety inducing stuff from you. Give yourself GRACEEEE!! Your 20s is an interesting time and I’m saying that as a 23 year old turning 24 believe in yourself and breathe. But please sista REACH BACKKKK to your community and lean on them. Having a sick parent ain’t no joke 🫂🫂🫂🫂

my recommendation is take every single thing one day at a time. take as much time as you need, there will always be more cc creators. the sims will be here long after your hard season is over!!! from my experience, having a sick parent is HARD. and there’s no amount of hoping or well wishes that will take away the anxiety that comes with it. take pictures, lots of them. and reach out to trusted friends and peers. i wouldn’t have been able to go through almost losing my mom without my village. it didn’t make things better, but it made it easier. wishing love and strength to you 🤍
