Hello gamers (positive),
a second channel has hit the youtube.
As i said before in a previous thoughts post, i wanted to think about how to evolve things here to make more content, foster more interaction, and do more experimentation. the book club was cool but niche, and didn't feel as satisfying as i wanted it to so i'm doing more of what all ya'll filthy animals are here for: to look at how pretty i am and yap yap yap. i'm doing what every video essayist is doing now which is starting a second channel for everything that's not video essay because i also like the off the cuff, more raw human size of youtube and i want to participate. FIRST VIDEO LIVE NOW!
i love my long videos, but i need a place to experiment and yap about things i can't with my current format. i want to engage in some things more swiftly, and increase the variety of things i engage in. i want to get better at off the cuff stuff because it'll help everything in the long run and i know it'll be PAINFUL from the couple attempts i've made but this will be good for me and hopefully also you and other people.
additionally, from a "youtube analytics content please do good brain", youtube has changed how it promotes content SIGNIFIGANTLY especially hampering how much it promotes videos older than 30 days. as someone who takes forever to make them, i feel like i need other things to regularly pull people in and this is a great option that lets me work on all the shit above + hopefully get new faces to view my face regularly. i ain't letting youtube take me out without a fight.
As i get things rolling i'll be posting videos here as well as on the second channel. Once things get rolling, i'll be putting things here for a week and then upload to the second channel.

full transparency, i want to give people more incentives to throw me some change. i'm planning on really pushing things this year and if i can build something out of it, that would be great. however, i also don't want to lock out everyone from content hence the week long window between being here and on the new channel.
i'm also going to try to add more things over time for just paid patreon members, extra bits and bobs like interviews, media discussions, other creations, whatever. again, if i can make this into something bigger i'd love to and i'm going to try while not being super annoying about it. still gonna talk about books and movies but nothing as deep as i did before, at least for now while i get the ball rolling on this new chapter.
thank all you beautiful goobers for sticking with me and watching my things, it has been a brightspot in my life and i am eternally grateful to even have a smidgen of people who like my weird garbage.
