Development Update #2 - Chapter 4

This week's progress has been going well. I've been rendering every night without any issues, so there's not really much to report.

On the technical side, everything is looking good so far. Creating renders in daylight has been feeling nice and refreshing.

The only downside is that creating environments has been a bit harder. In daylight, details and mistakes are much easier to spot compared to night scenes, where darkness conveniently hides a lot of errors and lets me be way lazier when putting them together 😆

Story-wise, everything is going well too. I have quite a lot planned for Chapter 4, so I'll have to figure out how much of it I can fit into the chapter and what might need to be cut or postponed until the next one. That's something I'll be evaluating as development continues.

I usually take Sundays off, but I really wanna fix the freaking Android icon that appears when you install the game 🫩 Right now, it's just the default Ren'Py logo, which is ugly. I tried to fix it during Chapter 3's development, but I couldn't. I think I'm actually dumb ngl 🤔 But today, I'm gonna give it another try.

And yeah... I think that's about it! Nothing really out of the ordinary this week, just a normal week of rendering.

| On a side note, the 4K version of Falling Apart (Chapter 3 only, PC only) will be available exclusively to Survivor members starting October 19, just to give the tier a little more weight

| Oh... another little side note. I had a couple of people report some issues this week, one saying the text was too slow and another saying the renders looked pixelated / low quality. The text is actually set to display instantly, and when I heard the renders were pixelated, I was like, wth, pixelated??🤨🤔

So I asked where they got Falling Apart from, and turns out they downloaded it from a forum.

I don't mind where you discover or download Falling Apart. I actually really appreciate different sites hosting the game, but please make sure the version you install comes directly from me. That way, you'll always get a safe link and the latest version available. I can't guarantee that copies hosted on other sites haven't been modified or are up to date, so it's always best to download the game from either here or Itch
