Development Update #16 - Chapter 3

This week I reached 1780 renders, we're getting really close to finishing the rendering phase. There are still some difficult scenes left to do, but everything is going according to plan.
I was supposed to post a new Chapter 3 preview on Thursday, but it completely slipped my mind. Sorry about that. This week has been a bit chaotic.
I moved to a new place. It wasn't really something I had planned, but sometimes life shakes things up a little. The good news is that my new place is much closer to my work place. As some of you may know, I was spending almost an hour driving to work every day, and it was becoming exhausting. I was at my limit. Now I'm only about 15 minutes away, so that's a huge improvement 😃
Yesterday, I also sat down and finally figured out how to properly use 4K renders in Ren'Py. If you don't know, when you create a Ren'Py project, the maximum project resolution is 1080p. However, I knew there had to be a way to display higher-resolution renders, I just never looked into it before. Back when I was developing Chapters 1 and 2, the laptop I used simply wasn't powerful enough to render everything in 4K, so it wasn't something I was concerned about.
Well, the solution was actually very simple. I can now confirm that Chapter 3 will be entirely in 4K. No downscaling or anything like that.
The renders automatically adjust to fit the screen without overlapping or causing any issues. I haven't tested it on a phone yet, but I expect it to work fine. I'll test that later today.
As I mentioned in a previous devlog, using 4K renders will increase the final size of the game, but I'll do my best to optimize everything as much as possible to keep the download size reasonable.

My family and I used to live 30 minutes from our workplace, and it WAS HORRIBLE... traffic jams on the highway. And during winter seasons? F-that! I slept at my Uncle's house, which was like 3-5 minutes away from the workplace 😅. Nice on the 4K render find; for a second I thought you were going to explain how you found it 😅. But it doesn't matter to me... 4K was never my thing. The LTop and phone never reach that high in resolution (QHD was the highest). And since I never played in 4KI, I could never differentiate 😂. Game sizes are never an issue for me, BUT I need to get that LTop ASAP... I'm running out of space on my phone (geniuses 🤓 only thought of putting 256 GBs for storage 🤣).
