Status update
Want to give an update regarding what's happing following the data loss, and what I intend to do next.
Before anything else, I will explain what exactly happened.
Put simply, RPG Maker crashed. This isn't a common occurrence, I think I could count on one hand the total number of times its crashed during the entire development of this game.
The problem was, unfortunately, the crash happened right after I had finished some edits and decided to save the project. It crashed right as RPG Maker was overwriting and saving the games data files.
The result of this was, a huge amount of in game data and events got erased.
Fortunately, I did have backups, so I was able to restore most everything. Unfortunately, I hadn't updated that backup in a while, so almost everything I have done since game update 0.18 was not saved there. Which Means all of it was lost for good.
The engine crashing sucked, and was outside of my control, but not keeping an up to date backup was entirely my own fault. I apologies for that.
Moving forward, I've decided to do a couple of things to try and make up for that mistake.
First. I've set up a better system for backing up my data. I now have a backup, and a backup of the backup. (And because I'm paranoid, a secret backup of that backup as well). From now on, I'll be saving a copy of the games data files every day after I finish working to ensure we don't suffer a major setback like this again.
Second, as already stated, I have paused billing on patreon. It will not be restarted until the next update for the game is actually out and we are back on track with a more regular pace again.
Third, I'm going to go silent for a bit while I knuckle down and get this update back to where it's supposed to be. That does also unfortunately means the new Ice Queen chapter is also delayed, because I want to focus entirely on Sorceress for now until everything lost is rebuilt.

I know when I keep text files for important things I usually have main and backup. For things like game files I'll do a similar thing where I have like Main01 and Main02 and I alternate which save I use. Just glad you only suffered a program crash and not a hard drive crash.... Glad the next update is one of the paths I was looking forward to. We need another statue update, perhaps a corrupt guard positions it to tie her up and pretends it's the 'real' sorceress not knowing it actually is. But when he leaves, he doesn't undo the binding devices. Thanks for the game, I appreciate it. Love the work, just keep going!
I am a writer and trust me when I say, most of the time even us (writers forget to keep back-ups of the script and end up to rewrite the entire chapter) common occurrence and part of the learning curve. It happens. Keep things at a pace that doesn't burn you out.
These things happen. So just Sit back and relax for a moment to get your head in the right place. take your time and dont blame yourself too much. It is an ongoing process so everytime something happens, it is a new learning curve. It isnt your fault as it is a new problem never encounted by you. So again sit back and relax and get your emotions sorted out then you will be more efficient. Love your game so waiting isnt a problem.
