Just dropped! 0.6.0 (alpha-6) ~ The Optimization & Performance Update™

Hey folks! Version 0.6.0 (alpha-6) is now live on Android & iOS for Patreon backers on the Early Tester & VIP tiers.

Here's the changelog:

🚀 New / Improved

• Cloud Server for routing calculations:

  • No more crashes on low-RAM devices

  • No more 3-minute loading time for navigation data on startup

  • If the app was crashing before, give it another try! Any device on Android 6.0+ or iOS 13.0+ should work fine now.

• Major rendering optimizations: Up to 2x framerate improvement on devices that were struggling.

• App size nearly cut in half (net ~20% reduction after adding new maps)

• Yellow areas now show more detail, with buildings and roads in distinct tones (see screenshot)

• Maps updated:

  • ATS 1.56 ➜ 1.57

  • ETS2 1.56 ➜ 1.57

  • ATS Reforma + Sierra Nevada ➜ 2.9.6 + 1.10 (for ATS 1.57)

  • ETS2 ProMods Europe 2.76 ➜ 2.77 (for ETS2 1.57)

  • ATS Expansion and ATS ProMods Canada remain on ATS 1.56 version

• New maps:

  • ATS Coast to Coast 2.21 (for ATS 1.57)

  • ATS More American Cities (for ATS 1.57, includes all 8 More Cities mods)

  • ETS2 RusMap 2.57 (for ETS2 1.57)

🐛 Fixed

• Major navigation data improvements: Most (if not all) disconnected-road issues causing long detours should be fixed (except some ETS2 ferry routes).

• Truck position lag reduced considerably

⚠️ Known Issues

• Routing can send you to the wrong company when two companies share the same name in a city.

• The routing system still avoids some ferry routes in ETS2

Also pushed hotfixes 0.6.1 and 0.6.2 for minor bugs.

This update focused on performance and device compatibility. Older devices that couldn't run the app before should work perfectly fine now, and the app should feel a lot smoother.

Some of the most requested maps have been added. ETS2 ProMods Middle East and Great Steppe will follow once they're updated for 1.57. NTTF and EAA have been tricky to implement but remain a top priority, along with support for selecting multiple map mods at once.

What about the public release?

The public release is being delayed to February 2026.

I've always aimed to have it ready before the end of the year, but sadly it won't happen in time.
The main things still missing are: next-turn directions, search mode, route overview and selection, dynamic zooming, a scalable way to support map mod combos, routing fixes, and Google/Apple authentication, plus possibly a few more.

I'll share a detailed roadmap soon with the full list of features and fixes planned.

What's coming next?

One more alpha update coming in December.. My current priorities are: next-turn directions, search mode (with quick-selection for fuel stops and rest areas), and better support for multiple map mod combinations.
