Update! 0.5.2 (alpha-5 patch-2) ~ Bug fixes and navigation improvements
Hello everyone! Version 0.5.2 (alpha-5 patch-2) is now live on Android and iOS! Available for Patreon backers on the Early Tester & VIP tiers.
This is mostly a bug fix release. Here's the changelog:
🚀 New / Improved
Navigation: Reduced the number of recalculations when deviating from the route. This lays the groundwork for moving navigation to the backend.
Route rendering: Uses a different color for the initial connection segment, and fixes some z-fighting issues.
🐛 Fixed
Fixed suggested route not displaying in left-hand-traffic areas like the UK in ETS2.
Fix several navigation issues causing disconnected zones, like some conflicting roundabouts.
Fixed a few companies and icons not showing in the app.
Fix setting waypoints while in 3D view not working correctly.
Fix compass position on screen.
Reduced RAM usage by ~20%, which may help prevent ProMods crashes on some devices. The definitive RAM fix is coming in alpha-6.
⚠️ Known Issues
Routing can send you to the wrong company when two companies share the same name in a city.
There are still a few problematic spots that cause roads to get disconnected, particularly in some cross-country borders or ferry routes in ETS2
What's coming next?
Work on version alpha-6 continues so we can move routing calculations to the backend, reducing hardware load on your devices, and allowing low-end devices to work without crashing. More details on the work being done for alpha-6 here.
