Another Life update about my health
Hello loves 🤍 I hope you’re all doing well.
This is a personal life update – not Sims related
I have an announcement that I honestly wasn’t expecting to share so soon 😅 but life had other plans. For the past two months, I’ve been in the hospital for medical reasons. I was pregnant and having complications. This pregnancy was completely unexpected, but I embraced it and loved every moment.
Around 18–20 weeks, my water started leaking. By 23 weeks, I had to be admitted to the hospital due to high risk. Being away from my family for the remainder of my pregnancy was incredibly emotional for me.
The doctors explained that continuing the pregnancy came with serious risks—I could develop a severe infection that could lead to losing my life, my baby’s life, or both. They suggested termination, but as I felt my baby kicking inside me, I knew that wasn’t an option for me 😭.
I turned to God, prayed deeply, and asked for clarity. My son had very low amniotic fluid, which could have prevented his lungs from developing properly. I prayed for protection and guidance, and I truly felt God leading me to search for more options.
At first, they told me I could monitor things at home and return at 23 weeks if my baby remained stable—which I did. Once admitted, I underwent IV treatments, constant monitoring, and regular bloodwork. Over time, his fluid levels began improving, which doctors said they rarely see happen 🙏.
This experience completely shifted my perspective. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I realized I wasn’t alone. Nurses reminded me not to let the hospital weigh me down because many women face depression during long stays. Seeing other high-risk mothers sacrificing their health and family time just to save their babies made me admire and appreciate motherhood on a whole new level. 🥺
Every kick, every heartbeat—I cherished it all. On July 31st, at 29 weeks and 1 day, my little fighter, Cyrus Amari 💙, made his early arrival.
As some of you know, last year I lost my pregnancy at 20 weeks on July 24th. Deep down, I felt my son would come around that same time—and he arrived exactly one week after my baby girl’s anniversary.
We went through so many challenges: low fluid, possible ruptured membranes, risk of infection, early labor, and long stretches away from family. Yet, despite predictions that we wouldn’t make it past 23 weeks, my baby fought through it all. He even managed to regain some fluid, which truly amazed the doctors.
While this journey isn’t over yet, I’m beyond grateful for every blessing. The Labor & Delivery nurses, High-Risk doctors, and NICU team have been absolutely incredible. My son is proof of strength, faith, and resilience. 💙
To anyone going through something similar—or supporting someone who is—trust your instincts, know your body, and most importantly, trust God. He has the final say and will always guide you toward clarity and peace. 🙏
P.S. I do have a registry, but since Cyrus is currently in the NICU, I’m unsure what size he’ll need when he’s ready to come home 🥹. If you’d like to support us, the link to my registry is below. I’ll also personally tag and thank anyone who contributes ♡
