What happened at 3:00AM nearly sank us.. (Emergency onboard)
At 3:00AM everything changed. One moment we were anchored on an atoll, under the stars, the next we were scrambling in the dark, adrenaline pumping, trying to keep La Vagabonde from running directly into a reef.
It’s hard to describe what it feels like when your home and your family are all at risk in the middle of the ocean. For a split second, both Riles and I were terrified we were making the wrong decisions.
This episode is one of the scariest moments we've ever filmed. A huge thanks to our crew for picking up the camera as we made split second decisions in the hopes of getting to safety.
We can’t thank you enough for being here on Patreon. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to keep making these films and bringing you along for all the wild, beautiful (and in this case scary) parts of life out here on the ocean.
The full episode is now live for you here on Patreon before anyone else sees it.
Love,
Elay, Riley & the boys xx

Loved the dance behind the code zero 😁 . Another awesome vid. You all bring it and it makes my day! 🙌🏻
Happy Birthday, Reily ! I actually have no more new way to describe the pleasure you give me with your videos. The best time of my week (almost), great pleasure. The crew is perfect, the relationships look great, and the kids are growing amazingly. Love to you all.
Glad your BD week was fun for all chocolate wise! The Youtube time warp continuum continues to confuse though…
Fabulous! So inspiring again!! Thanks for sharing xx
It was a great vid guys. Appreciate all the hard work and sacrifices. Stay smart! Good thinking.
I just want to say how much I appreciate you all. As a somewhat older but in my mind adventurous, have been avidly following you. It wasn’t until recently that I realized you have not only inspired me to get healthy mentally, and physically, but spiritually as well. The sights and experiences are breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. I am grateful for this, as well as Sea People. I am excited to hear this evening withe the sailor with amputations. As a person with disabilities, hearing that will be great. Take care you guys.
It's a bit scary on the reef, which serves as a reminder of how quickly things can go wrong. Happy birthday, Riley.
Great episode and advice at the end regarding customs officials, marina people and boat yards etc, "be very careful about what they tell you to do ... hear what they say and do what is best for you". Thanks for the reminder. I appreciate getting the insider tips and advice along the way from you guys - particularly the more technical side from Riley. Of course, I am sure you had a Happy Birthday and wish success for the year ahead
Great update and happy birthday, Riles! Cheers!
