HAUL OUT! Winter in Japan (Raw, Hour Long Special)

⛷️ This week, we’re diving into some major repairs on SLV III after last year’s crash… which means hauling out our floating home! It’s a massive job, but one that’ll keep her adventure-ready for our next big voyage—to the Mariana Islands and then onto Micronesia! Yewwww~

While SLV III gets some much-needed TLC, we’re taking a little detour—swapping waves for the slopes! We’re heading to Hakuba Ski Fields, a breathtaking spot where our sea legs will be put to the ultimate test on the slopes. Wish us luck!

As always, a huge thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy this early preview—let us know what you think! Are you into the longer format?

Lots of love,
Riley, Elayna, Lenny & Darwin

Hi Riley and Elayna, enjoying the Japan episode. I have been a long time patron. I binge watched over 150 episodes when my wife was in Europe. I have just been through a life changing experience. I was camping on Bruny island a small island off the coast of Tasmania. I knelt on some gravel and cut my knee. Three days later I spent 30 hours in Emergency, nearly died with a Staff A infection. Today is a milestone as I go home after three weeks. Good luck with the repairs, can’t wait to see Micronesia. Kind Regards Alistair McRae Hobart Tasmania Australia

I loved this video; it was great to see the boat out of the water and to see you guys go into the mountains and try snowboarding. What a star Kai is, is there anything he does not know about boats, a great crew member together with Carine.

Thanks for the great video. Loved Lenny's and Darwin's voice overs and also the moment when Riley was sitting in the shower handing over the shower head and you only see little Darwin's hand taking it over and making it disappear :D Stay safe!

Well done! Thanks for the catch-up. It reminded Bob of how much he does NOT miss hauling a boat since retirement and selling everything! I loved your edit of the Tokyo Disney and boatyard clips. Our neighbors recently visited Tokyo Disney and brought us back a souvenir. We live in Southern California California. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Hey I enjoyed the video up until the snowboarding part. As avid skiers, my brother and I, we considered to establish an international anti-snowboarding association. Ask me why...

I have been binge-watching the playlist stowaaway. When lenny was a little peanut, it is so easy and fun to watch over and over again

I have been so curious to see what accents, Darwin and Lenny will acquire. They still have little kid voices, but Lenny has a definite intonation. That is so interesting to listen to. They are children of the world. Their parents have a strong Australian accent. But they are not picking it up, as I thought they would. I can't tell if they had fun on the rides or were Totally freaked out or bored.

Once again I am impressed with the boys' vocab. their sentences especially show how deep their thinking is as they go into such detail when they speak. I loved the hour long format. It is so wonderful to get such detail regarding what is happening. ...... Kara and Nate have done a good bit of skiing this year as well. You probably watch their videos too. Please stay safe. out there come into my home and come part of my family. But, my live aboard is only a 27' Catalina. Thank you for coming into my home once again. Peace, love and joy (and safety).

Wonderful hour long. Loved it, all the variety, all the fun, all the falls, all the fear of the boat falling. Well done as usual. I love living your life through you video.

My fav bit.... Lenny "When your feet are cold it's not a big disaster".... lol! LOVE your hour long vids guys... always so entertaining AND educational. I've learnt so much watching all your content, thank you so much for all you share with us, you're definitely my number 1 influencers!! Hey if you're still in Japan a cool place to check out is Hakone... next to a massive lake "Lake Ashi" and Pirate Ships cruise up and down (unfortunately the sails aren't deployed). There's a cable car and one very magnificent view of Mount Fuji! Thanks again for sharing your amazing life with us and all the very best with setting sail once again. Can't wait to see the next one! xxx

Oh god I'm so happy to see you all. My face is sore from smiling so much OMG the boys reaction to leaving the boat for repairs. Sailors for life! The Japanese are so precise on everything they do. Reserch Methylene Blue guys Lol satisfaction "trimming Elayna's bush" hey Riley lol This video is gold

Elayna, I suspect you got where you are today due to the incredible dedication and hard work every day to make the awesomeness happen - sometimes to the breaking point. Long way to say: It's all well deserved. Also, hopefully, insurance covers most of that cost, and the bureaucracy isn't mind-melting.
