Collision at Sea: 2am Accident with Fishing Boat (Extended Cut)

I am so grateful for the journey and example you and Riley have created. My Paul and I spend every Sat and Sun morning over coffee watching your You Tube Channel and planning our next adventure which we are on this week. We have definitely had some challenges in this trip, but I look forward to everyday of it. There is a fine line for me in balancing between listening to the inner voice and not wanting to put negative thoughts out into the universe. That inner voice for me has guided my entire life. Listen to that voice. You’re not crazy. It is real. Just don’t let it cripple you with fear. I had a spiritual leader once tell me about what the acronym FEAR stands for. False Expectations Appearing Real. When I know I am reacting out of fear, I think long and hard about where that fear comes from. But for me, that inner voice is the overriding decision maker. Safe travels and hugs to those amazing boys. You are amazing parents and the life you are giving them will mold them and be with them forever.

You put so much of yourselves into that yacht build, I hope it can be repaired; looks difficult but feasible. If it is a write off, then maybe time to switch round the scenario ? Land home with periodic yacht adventures, instead of yacht home with periodic land adventures ? Up to you, but awesome what you have both achieved, alongside raising 2 sons. I was puzzled you would visit Shodo Shima sailing from Osaka to Tokyo, but having looked online, my guess is simply because it is very pretty (and not too far) ?

After watching this and my earlier comment asking how Elie was…the Erie feelings I’m having. I did not know how the crash impact was before and now how a series of events, gets Elie off the boat to safety. 🙏 I do believe in deja vu. I get it all the time, as things are happening and I know I’ve experienced this before! It’s like ours lives are on repeat or we have a momentary glimpse into what is about to happen! As I’m getting older in my life I have these thoughts that we are all creatures of this earth and need to look out for each other. We create our own “insurance” in our safe keeping. We can’t afford to go without insurances Riley!! 🤣 My only advice is…just to do you, this was just one of those life curves that temporarily puts us all off in another direction. Maybe another lesson learned that even slightly impaired while sleeping or hungover can affect how we handle emergency situations. My fatherly advice to my kids always and I’m old enough to be your parents! 🤣 I’m excited for your journey ahead…cheers guys 🤗

So greatful your ALL safe .. we were so worried about everyone especially Elli, due to where she slept. IT is everyone's Worst nightmare.. Curious to see what happens next with the boat and who pays for it. I'm wondering if Japan has a law requiring fishing vessels to have insurance and how much it would cover a boat of this value. All things that should come out in time.

I am going to put aside the accident itself. You guys are looking for answers and to learn about the spirituality of this world, and this event is part of your answer. I know now you pay more attention to the signed and premonitions. That should lead to questions like how it can be that you know things in advance, who moved Elli on time, etc. If someone is managing all these things behind the scenes, who is he ? How does he works ? What does he want from you personally ? And why you, why now ? Can this accident be a wake-up call to something bigger ? Is it a part of an answer you are looking for deep in yourselves, each on his own and together as one connected entity ? THERE ARE NO ACCIDENTS OR COINCIDENCES IN THIS WORLD. ONLY LEASONES AND GUIDENESS. You have a deep connection to the boat, but you will replace it in the long term, and it is material. Your journey in this world is only spiritual, and spirituality is measured by your ability to recognize and choose between good and evil and how close you are to the source of all things. What happened to you is an answer to your most profound inner desire and request, and to get the most out of it, you should look inside yourselves and figure out how this accident will lead you on the path you have requested. WOW, really makes you wonder about parallel universes and 6th sense. How freaky. I can only imagine the challenges that now face you now with the insurance claim process and where to get it repaired, and where to live while all this takes place. Nightmare! We are in Thailand on an extended stay while our caravan (our full time home) is being repaired in Oz. Best of luck guys. Cheers.

Looking back in hindsight the vision is 20/20 but at the present one must trust our intuition. This looks like it was a very stressful event on your whole family, stay safe and sound. So glad Ellie wasn't there when it happened.

So glad you guys are okay and I thank God that Ellie had already departed and she was not sleeping in her usual spot that night! I don’t think anyone could argue that a hand of protection was on you guys during this whole event. Call it karma for good living, a benevolent supreme being of the universe or as I prefer to believe the Father God Creator , you guys are blessed and highly favored and are protected. Try to maintain your peace and love throughout this process and I pray that the silver lining will be revealed soon. Incidentally, as far as do I ever get a slight nudge or vibe to go or do something?I live my daily life listening for the still small voice and He never disappoints!

Everything is repairable with time and money. But follow your gut like everyone else is saying and do what works for you. But I do have to point out. You were certainly talking about the next la vagabond quite a bit lately. So be careful what you put out in the universe. Sometimes you get it whether you’re ready or not.

Always, always, always listen to your gut. I too have had feelings on our boat much to the frustration of my husband that has caused us to act. Especially when our two grandsons are on board. Lifejackets are always placed in plain sight before retiring. So glad you are all ok. I will be using Darwin’s “luckity” from now on. Your boys are immediately stabilizers in a chaotic situation. Hang in there!!!

Delighted to see you all managing so well. Fair dues. Gutted for you and the plans you had made, but so relieved this wasn't a tragedy. The kids reactions were also amazing. Thought you portrayed the fishermen in a very sympathetic light and I really feel for them as well.

Gutted for you guys. Just total bad luck. The way they light up the decks on work boats at night must make it really hard to see anything on the water. Unless the whole rig was lit up like the sun, a couple anchor lights were never going to catch their eyes. Hope insurance covers the repairs and the shipyard goes smooth.

So sorry this happened, Riley and Elayna! Not what you expected on your epic Japan adventure I'm sure, but I'm happy that everyone is okay. Keeping you in our thoughts and hope this all gets resolved to your satisfaction.

Breathe, meditate, hold your babies. Swim when you can. Go see family. Mellie and Fran and Strick would love to see you again too. You will come through this. Joy and adventure will be back soon.
